Chinese automaker BYD has officially launched its Sealion 07 mid-size crossover SUV in Norway, with initial shipments scheduled for next year. The mannequin made its European debut at the Paris Auto Show in October, with Norway – a pioneer in electric vehicle (EV) adoption – being its next destination.

The initially named BYD Sealion 07 EV in China’s market was later rebranded as BYD Sealion 07, which now boasts a unique marketing tagline: “Fjord surroundings meet ocean aesthetics design.” BYD’s Ocean Line embodies a design philosophy that seamlessly integrates functionality with emotional appeal, creating an immersive brand experience that resonates with its target audience.

In Norway, the starting price of an automobile is approximately NOK 469,900, equivalent to around 42,300 USD. The company has seen a significant 61% increase in its value from the Chinese domestic market.

The innovative mannequin marks the debut of the cutting-edge e-platform 3.0 Evo, a significant step up from its predecessor, the e-Platform 3.0. The vehicle also features advanced cell-to-body (CTB) integration technology, enhancing frontal collision safety and passenger compartment protection by a significant 60% and 50%, respectively.

The automotive options three powertrains. Two-wheel-drive systems feature electric motors delivering power outputs of 230 kilowatts and 170 kilowatts respectively. The four-wheel-drive mannequin is equipped with a dual-motor setup, boasting maximum power outputs of 160 kilowatts and 230 kilowatts respectively. The solitary motorized mannequin offers a range of approximately 550 kilometers or 610 kilometers. The twin-motor mannequin boasts a range of approximately 550 kilometers.

The corporation presses on with its global aspirations, unveiling a new model that bolsters its presence in the fiercely competitive Norwegian electric vehicle marketplace.
