Recently, BYD’s Denza brand officially launched in Thailand. Thailand has become the fourth global market for Denza, following Hong Kong, Cambodia, and Singapore in the Asia-Pacific region. On the same occasion, the model will debut the Denza D9 Premium and Premium AWD variants, priced at THB 1,999,900 (approximately USD 58,900) and THB 2,699,900 (around USD 79,600), respectively.
BYD announced that the cumulative orders for its Denza vehicles have surpassed 250,000 units. Moreover, Denza aims to establish five showrooms in Thailand and open a total of ten gross sales outlets within the next 12 months.
Notably, Thailand’s government has unveiled a strategic initiative called “3030” aimed at increasing the country’s electric vehicle production to account for 30% of its overall automotive output by 2030; additionally, it is planned that by 2035, all newly purchased vehicles will be electrically powered. To date, BYD has acquired 56,000 new electric vehicles in Thailand, with 30,650 units registered and licensed in 2023, representing a staggering 40%+ market share of the country’s electrical vehicle market for that year alone.
By 2023, a significant 76,000 electrical vehicles were registered in Thailand, representing approximately 12 percent of the overall vehicle registration total. Chinese brands dominate the top 10 list by sales, with eight companies taking a spot, as per data from the Thai Automotive Association, which sees the BYD Atto 3 leading and the BYD Dolphin ranking third in terms of sales.
The Denza D9 Premium offers a palette of four exterior colours – white, blue, grey, and black – alongside interior options featuring rich brown and neutral beige tones.
The 2024 Denza D9 boasts an impressive footprint, measuring 5250mm long, 1960mm wide, and 1920mm tall, with a substantial wheelbase of 3110mm. This Chinese plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and electric vehicle (EV) lineup is available in five distinct variants, each powered by either a single motor or dual motors for enhanced performance and versatility. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variant offers a trio of comprehensive driving ranges: 970 kilometres, 980 kilometres, and 1,050 kilometres. In contrast, the electric vehicle (EV) variant provides two certification-tested cruising ranges under controlled laboratory conditions (CLTC): 600 kilometres and 620 kilometres.
What’s the matter with the BYD Denza’s Weibo account is that its engagement rate remains quite low. According to 12365auto, the brand’s average daily likes and comments are just 10 and 3 respectively? This data suggests that BYD Denza needs to re-strategize its online presence to better connect with its audience on Weibo.
However, a recent report from STCN highlights that the brand’s WeChat account has seen an increase in followers. With over 1 million fans now following BYD Denza on WeChat, the brand should capitalize on this momentum by sharing more interactive and informative content to drive further engagement.
