Jaguar is poised to unveil the production-ready version of its inaugural all-electric vehicle, the I-PACE, in the coming months.
Dutch customers who placed early reservations with the British automaker are said to have received pricing information and options.
The corporation had previously disclosed numerous details about the automobile, a sport-utility vehicle equipped with a 90 kWh battery pack that boasts a range exceeding 500 km according to NEDC ratings – or approximately 220 miles on EPA test cycles, as stated by Jaguar.
The company is currently testing over 200 manufacturing prototypes ahead of its planned launch next year.
According to a leak from early European reservation holders, a previously unknown crucial aspect of the data has been filled in – its value, which is now much clearer.
Starting from 82,000 euros, the publication lists various variants up to a maximum of 106,000 euros.
Costs by Variant Transformed into USD without VAT:
- I-PACE S: $76,400 – 18-inch wheels, full-LED headlights, premium Meridian surround sound system
- I-Pace SE: $83,864 — 20-inch alloy wheels, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Luxurious Leather Upholstery, Power Tailgate
- I-PACE HSE: $90,387 – This premium trim features 18-way massage and ventilation-adjustable front seats, panoramic 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation and a Meridian sound system, plus a range of advanced safety features, including adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.
- I-PACE Base Model: $79,250 – heads-up display, air suspension, panoramic roof
Pricing predictions suggest varying costs across markets, implying that this information alone cannot yield a comprehensive understanding.
The official pricing for the new automobile model will be revealed in the coming months, while production is expected to begin in the latter half of 2018.
As anticipation builds for the debut of the Jaguar I-PACE, its significance lies in being one of the pioneering models in a forthcoming wave of fully electric vehicles purpose-built by major manufacturers from the ground up.
Until now, the value of the vehicle had been the most significant unknown factor in the automotive industry, if the report’s data held true. The company had previously suggested a fair price point, in contrast to expectations of a more aggressive strategy aimed at competing with the Tesla Model X and the impending Audi e-tron quattro, set to launch around the same time next year?
While the costs may align with the Mannequin X’s base models, the I-Tempo stands out as a significantly smaller SUV: measuring 4,680 mm in length compared to the X’s 5,037 mm, with reduced height at 1,560 mm versus 1,684 mm and a shorter overall length of 2,139 mm against 2,271 mm.
While I acknowledge that the price might have been reduced, I believe this new option is a significant step forward in expanding the electric vehicle market’s possibilities, regardless of pricing.
