Seres revealed exterior of the upcoming Aito M8 SUV

The Seres company supplies equipment for the patent photography of the brand-new Aito M8 SUV in China. The vehicle boasts a bold, fresh exterior design that sets it apart from others in its class. A die-hard enthusiast of the Chinese language has obtained unofficial renders of the Aito’s latest prototype.

Seres and Huawei have partnered to form Aito. It’s worth noting that this model is not a three-way partnership. In July 2024, Seres acquired the Aito trademark and patents from Huawei for a staggering $344 million following a 2.5-million-yuan purchase agreement. Despite controversies surrounding its global reputation, Huawei continues to operate as a significant supplier of hardware and software solutions. Huawei has launched a new venture, offering Aito-branded vehicles through its dedicated HIMA sales network to customers.

Serres is accountable for driving platform growth, overseeing global manufacturing operations, and leading international sales efforts to achieve substantial revenue gains. The model of cooperative collaboration yielded impressive results, as Aito’s overall sales figure surpassed 289,479 units during the initial nine months of 2024. The current Aito mannequin lineup consists of three crossover models: the M5, M7, and M9. Aito is poised to debut its latest SUV offering, reportedly dubbed the Aito M8. The first photos had emerged online, following Seres’ patent applications.

Newly released patent photos provide a first glimpse at the forthcoming Aito M8 crossover, showcasing the Chinese automaker’s bold new design direction. Its primary characteristic is headlights. Two LED operating gentle strips are part of them. One additional exterior design iteration features a solitary LED stripe. As anticipated by earlier spy shots, the forthcoming Maextro sedan jointly developed by Huawei and JAC is set to adopt a consistent headlight design. It has the potential to become a standard feature for vehicles purchased by HIMA members.

The Aito M8 boasts a sleek, aerodynamic design featuring a seamlessly integrated, closed entrance panel devoid of any radiator grille. The vehicle’s entrance features a prominent trapezoidal air intake that dominates the design. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has blackened pillars and a sleek, black-tinted roof that adds to its sophisticated appearance. The vehicle features distinct design elements, including retractable door handles and a LiDAR sensor situated atop the roof. The Aito M8 features subtly angled D-pillars, a unified taillight design, and a rear bumper incorporating reflective accents.

Within patent photographs, the Aito M8 features 10-spoke rims adorned with special covers designed to minimize aerodynamic drag. The Aito M9, the flagship SUV of the renowned model, features an identical rim design to its predecessor. The wheels have a diameter of 21 inches. The Aito M8’s overall design bears a striking resemblance to that of Li Auto’s L-series crossovers. Unofficial render photos of the Aito M8 reveal these similarities as glaringly apparent.

In August 2024, the Aito M8 crossover was spotted undergoing high-speed testing on Chinese highways, clad in heavy camouflage to conceal its design. This new electric SUV will boast an uncannily similar interior design to the Aito M9. The specifications of the M8 remain under wraps for now.
