As we explore the latest trends in academia, I’m joined by Ford Professional’s Cross Car Model Supervisor, Nate McDonald, who sheds light on innovative fleet management tools that can help fleets better address the pressing question of:
As companies transition their fleets from traditional internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles, timing is everything. Ford aims to support its industrial clients by introducing a novel tool called Ford Professional’s E-Change Help, designed specifically for this purpose.
E-Charge Help is a complimentary software program that takes telematic knowledge from current gas-and-diesel-powered Ford F-150 and Transit models, tracks each vehicle’s individual energy usage, and determines whether it’s a candidate for conversion to an electric vehicle (EV).
The outcomes? After evaluating over 38,000 industrial vehicles in pilot applications, the E-Change Help tool revealed that nearly 53% of all industrial ICE-powered Ford F-150 and Transit vehicles are both “Extremely Likely Eligible” or “Likely/Probable Eligible” to switch to electric power without disrupting operations based on their current usage patterns.
“E-Change Help is a valuable resource that has enabled us to engage in extensive discussions with clients of all sizes about their readiness for electric vehicles; we’ve been incorporating its insights into consultations to help organizations determine whether electric cars or vans are suitable for them,” says Nate McDonald, EV strategy and cross-car model manager at Ford Professional. The impact of those innovations extends beyond simply selling a customer a new car – it shifts perceptions about the viability of electric vehicles for their business, potentially yielding cost savings and efficiency gains.
Nate McDonald is joining our show right now to guide us through this process. Take pleasure in!
