Ford dealers just received a substantial new motivation to move F-150 Lightning inventory? Ford is introducing a pioneering initiative that rewards dealerships with up to $22,500 per F-150 Lightning model re-stocked from a Retail Replenishment Center.
Ford’s Chief Executive Officer, Jim Farley, detailed ambitious plans to simplify the process of purchasing an electric vehicle during the company’s recent Capital Markets Day finale in May.
The adjustments encompassed transparent pricing, enhanced buyer comprehension, and remote delivery options. Ford is considering the launch of Retail Replenishment Centers to expedite the delivery of electric vehicles to customers within a timeframe of less than 10 days.
Ford offers incentives up to $22,500 to dealerships for replenishing F-150 Lightning orders from an RRC.
Between October 15, 2024, and November 15, 2024, Ford’s latest promotion offers dealerships a $1,000 rebate per 2024 F-150 Lightning sold through a Replenishment Center.
If a seller exceeds the maximum of nine items and sells up to fifteen, their motivation level will surge to $1,500. Throughout the entire month, sellers have the opportunity to earn up to $22,500.
Ford will incentivise dealerships to take inventory of its newly launched F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck by offering them compensation to move the vehicles off their lots?
Ford’s sales team was aware that this system was designed to “further examine the logistics and operational efficiencies of regional racing championships” while enhancing fan engagement.
The incentive pertains to all trim levels except the base F-150 Lightning Professional model, which is no longer available for retail purchase.
As it stands, this system may be both beneficial and hazardous to consumers. Savvy buyers may find opportunities to acquire discounted Ford F-150 Lightning models as some dealerships look to offload inventory at reduced prices, while others may offer a wider selection of trim levels and features not readily available on current lots.
Despite this, it may still require fewer choices when visiting a dealership. Ford’s upcoming pilot programme may preview the integration of older features into its forthcoming 2025 F-150 Lightning model.
