The introduction of the 2024 Triumph Scrambler 400 X and Pace 400 has unveiled a plethora of possibilities for the storied British brand. Initially, Triumph offers aspiring motorcyclists the opportunity to enter the world of motorcycling with its iconic models from the start of their riding experience. Moreover, this innovative approach enables the model to penetrate markets where higher-capacity motorcycles are either unfeasible or prohibitively expensive for the average consumer. In Thailand, where narrower roads are a norm, smaller-capacity bikes and scooters dominate the urban landscape.
In a corner of Southeast Asia, Thailand stands out as the hub where Ok-Pace, a renowned custom motorbike workshop, thrives in its creative endeavors. With a passion for staying connected to the pulse of Thailand’s motorbike culture, Ok-Pace frontman Tanadit “Eak” Sarawek keeps his finger firmly on the throttle, ensuring he remains attuned to every twist and turn within the biker community. As excitement surrounding the debut of Triumph’s 400cc models in Thailand reached a fever pitch, it was only a matter of time before he and his crew indulged their desire to get behind the wheel of one.
Eakin has transformed a 2024 Triumph Pace 400 roadster into a menacing and captivating café racer, its sinister design guaranteed to turn heads. The challenge, a private endeavour for Eak and his team, spanned approximately 50 days from start to finish. By adopting this strategy, Ok-Pace is well-positioned to stay abreast of emerging trends and initiate the process of developing aftermarket parts to cater to its customers’ demands.
Building on the momentum from an earlier Thruxton 1200 R project, Eak aimed to transform the Pace 400 into a motorcycle that embodied a racing-inspired design philosophy. The designer’s concept centered on transforming the Pace 400 into a more athletic iteration, drawing inspiration from the iconic Thruxton and incorporating elements characteristic of his Ok-Pace model. With meticulous care, each detail was painstakingly crafted by hand before being brought to life by his skilled team.
To enhance performance and streamline its design, the Pace 400’s rear section has undergone modifications, resulting in a more proportionate and aerodynamic profile. The suspension’s downward adjustment enables a more aggressive posture. The units that set this bike apart from the Ok-Pace Thruxton R are primarily its distinctive entrance fairing, which serves as a direct homage to the fairing available on Triumph’s top-of-the-line Street Cup. Equipped with bespoke hardware, this installation boasts a cutting-edge LED headlamp featuring a distinctive halo working light. With subtle nods to its high-performance heritage, the holes drilled into one facet of the sleek fairing introduce an intriguing asymmetry that is uniquely Ok-Pace.
The Ok-Pace Triumph Pace 400 boasts further customized enhancements, including a bespoke ‘wasps tail’ cafe racer-inspired solo seat crafted to maximize the benefits of its modified subframe. From Ok-Pace’s exclusive Diablo range of bespoke equipment, a compact entrance fender emerges, bolstered by custom-designed hardware and a tailored exhaust system. With its clip-on handlebars strategically positioned for an assertive driving stance, the speedometer has been repositioned to the side of the vehicle’s body, creating a streamlined and uncluttered cockpit. The Spartan-themed bike now boasts inconspicuously installed aftermarket LED flip indicators and a subtle brake light, maintaining an understated air of rugged simplicity. The engine’s sinister aesthetic is matched by its black Okay-Pace covers, which feature a textured ribbed design motif.
Despite apparent modifications to this Pace 400, Eak has deliberately eschewed any efficiency-enhancing upgrades for the bicycle. Despite the reduced suspension and altered driving dynamics, it is likely to promote even more assertive driving.
Okay Pace is a force to be acknowledged within the Asian customised scene, and its on-point initiatives like this will continue to keep us coming back for more.
