Jaguar is poised to unveil an all-electric racing series heavily influenced by the production-based I-PACE SUV, leveraging its innovative electric vehicle capabilities in a competitive motorsport environment.
Their racing car prototype completed its maiden lap on the ABB FIA Formula E Championship circuit in Berlin over the weekend.
As founder and CEO of Formula E, Alejandro Agag had the distinction of racing an all-electric car for the first time on the Formula E circuit.
He mentioned concerning the expertise:
The eTROPHY automobile presents itself as a production street car with the exceptional performance capabilities of a racing vehicle. This collection aims to introduce innovative knowledge to a broader audience, leveraging the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY as an ideal collaboration partner with Formula E. As a stalwart advocate for Jaguar, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing their growth within the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, with the thrill of shaping the future of the sport in tandem with them. I eagerly anticipate witnessing the lineup of those vehicles on the grid in future seasons.
At the Formula E event in Berlin, Agag completed five laps in front of a crowd of enthusiastic spectators.

Recently, Michelin conducted thorough tests at its Technology Centre in Ladoux, France, of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY all-electric race car prototype, and released a corresponding video.
The manufacturing model of the Jaguar I-PACE was revealed earlier this year and is slated to hit dealership floors in mere months.
According to Jaguar, the racing variants feature bespoke tweaks comprising chassis setup, powertrain optimization, power delivery calibration, and aero dynamics refinement.
The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s inaugural eTROPHY series commences in the 2018-19 season, as part of the fifth iteration of the electric racing championship. The official racing schedule for this year is expected to be unveiled at a later date.
This innovative approach will undoubtedly provide a compelling showcase for electric vehicles, with the I-PACE being the star attraction.
According to sources, Jaguar allegedly intends to manufacture its new vehicle in modest quantities, far below typical industry standards. Since the product is already receiving positive feedback from those who have tried it, we may not need to invest as much in promotion, especially considering our plans to conduct a review next month.
Notwithstanding its earlier limitations, this approach proves an efficient means to boost EV adoption – building upon the initial momentum generated by the Formula E.
The Electrical GT series aims to replicate its success in the Tesla Racing Championship, scheduled to commence concurrently with the eTROPHY championship.
It’s likely that they’ll face off against each other on the same track at some point in the future. It will be attention-grabbing.
