The BYD Seal 06 GT electric hatchback is set to debut in China’s market on October 18, as announced by the BYD Ocean Collection General Manager. The Seal 06 GT started taking pre-orders in late August, boasting a price range of 150,000 to 200,000 yuan ($21,300-$28,390 USD), depending on the trim.

The BYD Seal 06 GT is a highly anticipated hatchback from the world’s leading new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer. Derived from the Ocean-M concept car unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2020. The initial launch date for the Seal 06 GT was set to take place in late September. The event was subsequently rescheduled for October.

What’s the current status of your BYD Seal 06 GT? With its sleek design and impressive features, this car has been a hot topic in the automotive world. Here are some key points to consider:

* **Engine Performance**: The BYD Seal 06 GT is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine that produces 177 horsepower and 258 Nm of torque.
* **Transmission**: The car features a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) for seamless shifting.
* **Braking System**: The BYD Seal 06 GT comes equipped with ventilated disc brakes on the front wheels and drum brakes on the rear wheels, providing reliable stopping power.

According to a post by BYD’s common supervisor Zhang Zhuo on Chinese social media platform Weibo, the Seal 06 GT is set to debut in the domestic market on October 18. Its precise costs are unknown. Notwithstanding earlier announcements from BYD suggesting a price range of 150,000-200,000 yuan ($21,300-$28,390 USD), it’s challenging to pinpoint the Seal 06 GT’s direct competitors due to the relatively low popularity of hatchbacks in China.

The BYD Seal is mounted on its latest e-Platform 3.0 Evo architecture. The exterior styling harmonizes seamlessly with the Marine Aesthetics design philosophy. With its sleek sport-oriented grille, slender LED daytime running lights, and streamlined tail light assembly, the vehicle presents a modern appearance that commands attention on the road? The Hyundai Elantra GT isn’t a small hatchback; in fact, it has a distinctly larger presence on the road. The precise dimensions of this vehicle are 4,630mm x 1,880mm x 1,490mm, with a wheelbase of 2,820mm.

Inside, the Seal 06 GT boasts a conventional BYD layout. The centre console features a 15.6-inch rotatable and adjustable touchscreen display, complemented by a compact 10.25-inch LCD screen that serves as the primary driver information display. What’s more, the Seal 06 GT boasts a cutting-edge 12-inch high-definition head-up display, ensuring crystal-clear visual clarity and reducing distractions while driving. Cabin amenities include Wi-Fi connectivity, cellphone charging pads, and a state-of-the-art DiLink 100 cockpit system.

The BYD Seal 06 GT offers a trio of powertrain options. The entry-level mannequin features rear-wheel drive (RWD), generating 160 kilowatts (214 horsepower) and 310 Newton meters of torque. A high-performance variant is available, boasting an impressive output of 165 kW (221 horsepower) and 330 Newton meters. With its 4WD variant, the BYD Seal 06 GT boasts an impressive peak energy output of 310 kilowatts, translating to a potent 415 horsepower. With its potent engine, this vehicle can reach a speed of 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. There are two Long-Range Fast-Powering (LFP) battery options available: a 60 kilowatt-hour (kWh) model and a more powerful 73 kWh variant. The route spans approximately 315 to 395 miles (as the crow flies), but actual driving distance via the most direct routes typically falls within a range of 505-605 kilometers.
