Is the Jackrabbit OG2 truly the Labrador of e-bikes?

The Jackrabbit OG2 Is the Labrador of Ebikes

My sunshine is yellow too, radiating warmth like a happy Labrador’s grin. Unlike a traditional pet dog, this device is designed to be portable, allowing you to take it anywhere – even on an airplane. This ultra-compact e-bike is a marvel of miniature design, allowing riders to effortlessly zip around town, store it in their car’s passenger seat, or even discreetly stow it away from prying eyes.

While its appearance may evoke childhood nostalgia, the Jackrabbit OG2 is specifically designed for adults ranging in height from 4’9″ to 6’2″, not a toy meant for children. The OG2 represents a significant improvement over its popular precursor, the Jackrabbit OG, which, despite its enduring appeal, still commands a price tag of $999. The second model features a powerful 300W motor and a fully UL-certified, 36V 4.2Ah battery, allowing for speeds up to 20 mph. And it has a speedometer.

The most significant advantage of the OG2’s compact design is its remarkably light weight, a mere 25 kilograms. The dimensions are approximately 47 inches in length and 34 inches in height. The bike boasts a fold-flat design, allowing its pedals to collapse and handlebars to retract, enabling a seamless transition from rideable mode to storage-friendly compactness that easily fits in a car’s backseat or hallway closet.

You also find out that the Jackrabbit OG2 is a pedal-less, drivetrain-free vehicle. It’s actually a prototype that blurs the lines between a traditional bicycle and an e-bike. The innovative design combines a scooter’s agility with a bike’s stability, boasting substantial, reassuring 20-inch wheels for added security. Jackrabbit dubs it a “micro ebike”.

If your phone runs out of battery, you won’t be able to power it back home. However, you can still use it to order an ride-share and have it taken directly to your residence. For Jackrabbit enthusiasts, the trade-off in portability is well worth it.

Variations Between OG and OG2

The OG2 features a sleek fold-flat design for effortless packing on tours, as well as convenient ports for powering optional front and rear lights.

For the most part, varying speeds yield approximately 8.3 miles, a distance that’s hardly alarming considering the trip featured ample periods of full-throttle acceleration and numerous inclines. A prudent rider will always carry one or two spare battery packs to ensure they don’t get stranded in case the primary pack runs out of power. The lightweight battery weighs almost exactly 2 kilograms, making it easy to carry multiple units in a standard backpack.

Every spare battery comes with a hefty price tag of an additional $200 each. For maximum efficiency, consider investing in Jackrabbit’s Vary Buster Equipment whenever you have a spare $400; this innovative tool promises an impressive 25-mile range expansion. While this battery is not certified for air travel, regular-sized batteries are approved by the FAA for flights.

Was the trip to your expectations of a high-quality and enjoyable experience? Despite this, the performance of your vehicle can still be enhanced by lowering the tyre pressure slightly. My suitcase had been packed to capacity. The 20-inch wheels significantly enhance the stability of this ride, surpassing that of an electric scooter.
