On approximately September 28, the figure was reported as ranging from 160,000 to 200,000 yuan, equivalent to roughly $22,800-$28,550 USD. Despite the initial hype, four ER-EV variants, combined with three entirely electric variations, were unveiled during the pre-sales launch.

While sharing a visual similarity with the Deepal SL03 and L07 sedans on which the Mazda EZ-6 is based, the Mazda still successfully establishes its own unique persona. Notably, this dimension diverges significantly from the two Deepal styles. Here: The Mazda’s dimensions are 4921mm in length, 1890mm in width, and 1485mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2895mm. Despite its 5-millimeter shorter wheelbase, the new design makes the Mazda larger than both the SL03 and L07 models, as per specifications.

The EZ-6’s entrance boasts a grille reminiscent of Mazda, while its headlights feature a distinctive breakup design. The primary headlights are discreetly concealed beneath the daytime running lights. Mazda references its LED lighting system as the “Wings of Light,” with reports suggesting that the Mazda logo can also be illuminated.

The automobile boasts a decidedly sporty posture, its sleek, coupe-like design exuding a sense of dynamic flair. The rear sports a ducktail-inspired spoiler, which surprisingly transforms into an electrically actuated system at speeds exceeding 90 km/h. The rear taillight clusters share a familiar design with many other Mazda models, featuring a through-light brake function.

This month, the Deepal L07’s unveiling raised eyebrows due to its striking omission: a traditional instrument cluster was nowhere to be found. The Mazda EZ-6 meticulously emulates the Deepal SL03’s design, thereby featuring an instrument panel and a prominent 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Additionally, the vehicle features a 50-inch augmented reality heads-up display. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor governs the vehicle’s in-vehicle systems and applications.

The base model of the car features leather upholstery as standard, with higher trims blending leather and suede to create a unique aesthetic. The vehicle features a premium 14-speaker Sony audio setup, a sophisticated 64-color ambient lighting system, and innovative zero-gravity seats that can recline to a near-horizontal position, while the cockpit offers intuitive 13 scene mode settings. Additionally, there may also be a non-opening panoramic roof available.

The drive selector is located on a stalk situated atop the steering wheel column, thereby liberating valuable space in the centre console. Although there appears to be space for two phones, only the area nearest the driver seems to support wireless charging.

The electric vehicle employs a 190-kilowatt MSED04 electric motor mounted at the rear axle, featuring a choice between two lithium-ion battery packs: a 56.1-kilowatt-hour option providing a range of approximately 480 kilometers, and a larger 68.8-kilowatt-hour pack extending the driving distance to around 600 kilometers? Batteries utilise lithium-iron-phosphate technology and typically discharge within a quarter-hour, potentially reaching 30% to 80% State of Charge (SoC).

The EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) offers a 1.5-litre JL473QJ engine, capable of delivering up to 70 kilowatts of power. Energy is transmitted precisely to the wheels through a 160 kW electrical motor. Reliable estimates suggest that the range of the battery pack varies between 130 km and 200 km, with an exceptional maximum range of approximately 1,301 km. The Chevrolet Bolt EV’s Energy Recovery System (EREV) reduces energy consumption by 30% to 80% within 20 minutes.

Does the Mazda EZ-6 actually boast L2.5 driving assistance? Despite appearances, this seems to be primarily just a sophisticated cruise management tool.
