The Luxeed R7 smartphone was officially launched on September 24.
Luxeed, a cutting-edge model, was jointly developed by Chery and Huawei, leveraging Huawei’s Concord Clever Mobility Alliance (HIMA) ecosystem for innovative collaboration. Pre-orders for the new automotive model commenced on September 10, with prices remaining largely unchanged from those during the pre-sale period. It’s astonishing to discover that there are in fact four distinct versions revealed, rather than the initially announced trio, as showcased during the pre-sales event. Priced between $36,950 and $48,300, the Luxeed R7 ranges from 259,800 to 339,800 yuan. The variations are as follows:
RWD 82 kWh Professional | 259,800 yuan (36,950 USD) |
RWD 82 kWH Max | 299,800 yuan (42,650 USD) |
RWD 100 kWh Max | 319,800 yuan (45,500 USD) |
AWD 100 kWh Extremely | 339,800 yuan (48,300 USD) |
The R7 is the second model released by Luxeed, following in the footsteps of its predecessor. Although designed as a SUV coupe, it shares a familiar silhouette with its sibling, the S7 sedan. The enclosed grille and distinctive headlight arrangement on the entrance are particularly striking features. While Huawei clarifies that it’s not a traditional automaker, the HIMA ecosystem’s vehicle designs share a striking uniformity.
With a substantial dimensions of 4,956mm in length, 1,981mm in width, and 1,634mm in height, this automobile boasts an equally impressive 2,950mm wheelbase. The standard automotive features 20-inch wheels, with the option to upgrade to 21-inch wheels. While some may consider the R7 a rival to the Tesla Model Y, its actual dimensions are more comparable to those of larger SUVs like the BMW X6, with an impressive length of 206 mm exceeding that of its peers. With a competitive Cd of 0.219, this mass-produced SUV boasts impressive aerodynamics and a reduced coefficient of drag, ultimately enhancing its overall efficiency.
Patrons can choose from a palette of six distinct colours: Ceramic White, Area Gray, rich Gilded Black, vibrant Cosmopolitan Crimson, regal Phantom Purple, and uplifting Sunny Blue. Optional non-compulsory Brembo crimson brake calipers add an extra sporty touch to the vehicle’s appearance.

The automobile features a Turling chassis. Thanks to its innovative vehicle state management system (IV-SE), the R7 can effortlessly navigate various terrain conditions, including off-road excursions, as previously disclosed. By employing a cutting-edge primary energetic cornering management system that seamlessly integrates advanced technologies such as dynamic braking, precision energy torque vectoring, and sophisticated dual-motor four-wheel torque energy management, the vehicle is capable of delivering precise cornering performance, effectively minimizing the push-and-pull effect often associated with cornering. According to the manufacturer’s claims, this vehicle boasts a 3% improvement in stability compared to the Tesla Model Y and an impressive 18% increase over the BMW X6.
The innovative downhill cruise function has the ability to proactively regulate vehicle speed and minimize driver pedal input. By employing this technology, one achieves a more substantial enhancement of vital energies, accompanied by a notable reduction in brake temperature buildup. According to claims, the R7 equipped with this technology reportedly demands 67% less braking involvement compared to a Tesla Model Y and 63.8% less than a BMW X6. The Luxeed R7 has reportedly reached an impressive top speed of 82.3 km/h.
The Luxeed R7 features a double-wishbone suspension upfront and a multi-link independent suspension at the rear. Additionally, this vehicle features stable variable damping and air suspension, ensuring a smooth ride.

The motorhome features rear leisure screens, although the availability of this feature is unclear, potentially limited to top-end trims only. The Leisure System comes bundled with Huawei’s MagLink technology and Huawei Sound capabilities.
The automotive industry’s systems leverages Huawei’s Concord OS for seamless integration and functionality. Professional fashions boast a 15-speaker sound system, while all other variants feature a powerful 17-speaker setup driving 1000 watts of audio output. Will there potentially be a supplementary 8.2-liter refrigerator located within the central console, capable of regulating temperatures between 3 and 50 degrees Celsius?

The R7 features a driver’s zero-gravity seat and electrically adjustable second-row seating for enhanced comfort. The Max model features a zero-gravity seat design that ensures a comfortable and secure ride for passengers. This premium feature offers 18 stages of adjustable comfort, accompanied by a soothing 10-point therapeutic massage and warm leg relaxation, measuring an impressive 340 millimeters in length. The entrance and rear rows feature double-layered warmth and sound-insulating glass.
The trunk area boasts an impressive 837 litres of space, thanks to its clever three-partition design, easily accommodating four pieces of luggage: three 28-inch and one 20-inch suitcase. When the seats are folded, the capacity increases to a spacious 2130 litres. There’s also an optional 52-liter front trunk, distinguished by its innovative opening mechanism: simply tap the hood twice while in Park mode to access this handy feature.

All variants leverage a proven 800V silicon carbide-based high-voltage architecture to ensure reliable operation and optimal performance. While the Professional and Max variants feature a 215 kW electric motor attached to the rear axle, the Extremely version further equips the front axle with an additional 150 kW motor. The acceleration time for the dual-motor variant is a mere 3.9 seconds.
While the Professional model is equipped solely with an 82 kWh battery pack, customers choosing the Max can opt for either the standard 82 kWh pack or upgrade to a larger 100 kWh option. The ranges of mountains A and B are approximately 667 kilometres and 802 kilometres, respectively. The Extremely trim’s all-wheel-drive configuration is exclusively available when paired with the larger 100 kWh battery pack, which enables an impressive range of up to 736 kilometers, as measured by the Chinese Laboratory Test Cycle (CLTC) protocol. According to claims, the vehicle’s range is expected to increase by 200 kilometers after just five minutes of charging, while the battery can expand its capacity to 400 kilometers within a quarter of an hour.
The professional model will incorporate the cutting-edge Huawei Qiankun ADS 3.0 vision-based system. The collaboration between Max and Extremely has led to the integration of a 192-line Huawei Lidar unit, effectively utilizing the entire Qiankun system.
Mass deliveries of the Max and Extreme variants are scheduled to commence on October 15, while professional models will begin shipping on November 15.
