Jaguar starts I-Pace deliveries to customers in the US
SHARE

Jaguar has commenced delivering its first all-electric vehicle, the I-PACE, to customers in the United States following an initial slow start to production and European deliveries.

During its initial production period, Jaguar successfully launched approximately 1,000 units of its innovative I-PACE electric SUV to the market.

British luxury car manufacturer has started delivering vehicles to customers in the United States, marking its official entry into the US market. The inaugural delivery took place in Florida, as the company begins to expand its global footprint.

Mark and Holly Pascarella, residents of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, took delivery of the inaugural Jaguar I-PACE in North America. While the family had previously owned various Jaguar models, the I-PACE marked a milestone as their first electric vehicle, leaving them thoroughly thrilled. Here: Mark discusses the household’s eagerness about the I-PACE and how it’s the perfect SUV for their active family.

With the announcement, Jaguar launched a Q&A with the proprietor Mark Pascarella:

My entire household is happy! When I shared the news with my family – including my spouse and our three children, aged 15 and 18 years old – it was astonishing to discover that none of them could fathom having the first I-PACE arrive in North America before the vehicle’s official market launch. As we welcomed the new arrival, their minds struggled to comprehend the possibility of having an electric vehicle in our own backyard, while we ourselves were overjoyed by this unique opportunity to own not only a Jaguar but also its electric counterpart. We’re a Jaguar household.

I’ve owned two XKR models, an XJ, two automatic F-TYPEs, and an F-PACE. With seven Jaguars under our belt – including the current F-TYPE and my daughter’s F-PACE – it seems likely that this latest model will join the family fold. The thrill of driving my Jaguar F-TYPE R is unmatched in its enjoyment. For over two and a half years, I’ve owned my vehicle, which often prompts astonished reactions from others whenever I arrive at a destination. The onlookers are consistently extolling the virtues of the automobile’s breathtaking beauty. The sleek car boasts a vibrant crimson exterior, complemented by a sleek black interior and topped off with stylish 20-inch wheels that add to its undeniable allure. A sleek automobile commands attention, its powerful supercharged V8 engine roaring to life as you arrive at your destination. I’ve always wanted to take my car out on a racetrack, but unfortunately, I just don’t have the time.

With a family of five, having ample space is crucial, leading us to seek out a reliable and spacious SUV. Given our family’s evolving needs, we’ve traditionally owned a seven-passenger SUV; however, with one of my daughters recently departing for college, I find that a five-passenger vehicle is now more than ample. Upon first glance, the I-PACE struck me as a quintessential Jaguar offering, boasting premium materials and sleek aesthetics. It didn’t seem like your average SUV, and the fact that it was electric made it all the more intriguing. Although initially unimpressed by Tesla’s interior design and aesthetic, my perception changed upon encountering the Jaguar I-PACE, prompting me to express a desire to test drive it. My spouse also enjoyed it just as much. Since her real estate business often requires her to travel with clients, she’ll likely use the car more frequently than I will? As she navigates the neighborhood in this stunning ride, everyone’s eyes are bound to be on her. Upon exiting the house for dinner with the entire family, it’s challenging to accommodate everyone comfortably in the F-TYPE due to space constraints; having the I-PACE available with its ample room and luxury features would provide a more pleasant experience. We’ll also utilize it when visiting family during the holiday season.

We’re a really busy household. We enthusiastically attend all the competitions and events where our children participate in the marching band, fully supporting their endeavors. We have a fondness for attending theatrical performances and subsequently enjoy a evening out by going to dinner. We likely dine out six to seven times a week. As a die-hard sports enthusiast, I’m passionate about supporting my local teams. We thrive amidst chaos, constantly in motion – yet I find myself yearning for a moment of stillness. I’m a keen golfer, playing at least four times a week regularly. Apart from my family – my loving spouse and our three cherished daughters – cooking is my passion.

Prior to purchasing the I-PACE, I was unfamiliar with many aspects of electric vehicle (EV) knowledge. I’ve learned online and genuinely enjoy exploring technical aspects. I’m fascinated by computer systems and cutting-edge audio-visual technology, and I have a special affinity for vehicles. I’m a automobile nut.

I haven’t. Despite my enthusiasm for innovative technology, I’m underwhelmed by Tesla’s aesthetic offerings and haven’t been impressed with premium hybrid vehicles available thus far. We’re thrilled to introduce the I-PACE as our inaugural electric vehicle, exuding exceptional excitement. Particularly my children. What a great adventure awaits us domestically!

Crown Jaguar, in St. St. Petersburg has proven to be a phenomenal destination for our organization. The exceptional service they provided was truly remarkable, making a significant difference as well. From a distance of 35 miles, I’ve developed a loyal relationship with their dealership, having acquired six Jaguars and now an I-PACE, all thanks to their exceptional service standards that have earned my trust. I believe in them and am okay with what they do. They’re undoubtedly prepared to handle me.

Electrek’s Take

We’ve been eager to showcase the I-PACE to discerning clients, like-minded individuals who until now had remained loyal to Jaguar but saw no compelling reason to switch to electric – a loyal following we’re delighted to win over with our flagship model.

While some may remain immune to Tesla’s allure, the electric car pioneer continues to captivate a vast audience worldwide. Loyalty plays a peculiarly crucial role in the automotive industry, defying straightforward explanation.

While some legacy automakers may be focusing their electric vehicle (EV) marketing efforts primarily on existing EV customers, it’s unclear whether this strategy is entirely effective or necessary.
