Following its launch in Seoul in February 2021, Hyundai’s midsize electric SUV, the IONIQ 5, has consistently risen through the global electric vehicle sales rankings.

Hyundai’s senior design supervisor of exteriors, Brad Arnold, explained, “We crafted the IONIQ 5 XRT to deliver enhanced safety features, seamless connectivity, and exceptional performance.”

The XRT trim boasts unique features such as a digital camouflage exterior finish, a suspension lifted by +23mm, 18-inch black alloy wheels, and exclusive bumpers at the front and rear.

Based on Hyundai’s 2025 IONIQ 5, the XRT trim features a fourth-generation 84 kWh battery and boasts an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-estimated range of up to 280 miles (451 km), utilizing the company’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This high-performance vehicle boasts a state-of-the-art dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, capable of producing an impressive 300 horsepower.

A significant innovation in the latest IONIQ 5 is the introduction of a new NACS charging port, allowing access to Tesla Superchargers.

The XRT trim is expected to start around $49,000. The vehicle will be built alongside the updated 2025 IONIQ 5, marking the first production model to roll off the lines at Hyundai’s state-of-the-art Metaplant America facility in Georgia.

Hyundai has announced that electric vehicles manufactured at its new facility will be eligible for a $3,750 federal tax credit. Once the battery unit is certified at the facility within the next 12 months, eligible US-made Hyundai EVs will qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax credit.
