CATL’s Tectrans T, a battery specifically designed for heavy-duty vehicles, boasts an impressive lifespan of up to 2.8 million kilometers. At the IAA Mobility event in Germany, it was announced that this technology can replenish up to 70 percent of its State of Charge (SoC) within a quarter-hour, while the top-of-the-line trim boasts an impressive maximum capacity of 600 kilowatt-hours.
China’s leading battery manufacturer introduces two innovative variants of its latest Tectrans – T series: a Long-Life Edition and a Super-Fast Charging Version.
The Tectrans – T Lengthy Life Version boasts an extraordinary lifespan of approximately 1.7 million miles, spanning a remarkable 15 years. Aligns pricing strategies with CATL to minimize depreciation costs. CATL’s innovative QIJI Vitality solution enables the battery swap offering.
“With its impressive resilience tested against the backdrop of time, CATL’s heavy-duty truck battery sets a new industry standard for endurance,” declared Aleksej Krükov, Chief Engineer at CATL International Business, during the IAA presentation in Hanover.
The innovative Tectrans – T Superfast Charging Version enables rapid 4C charging, swiftly replenishing the battery. What’s the distance between the two? It’s a whopping 500 kilometers! Notwithstanding its impressive capabilities, the average lifespan of a spacecraft like this is approximately 1.2 million kilometers (or 750,000 miles) away from Earth, with an operational duration of roughly eight years.
Throughout Europe, Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) has established partnerships with several prominent heavy-duty truck manufacturers, including Daimler Truck AG, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, and Volvo Group.
Tectrans, previously known as Tianxing () in Chinese, is CATL’s business-oriented automobile battery model. It has presently three merchandise:
- for heavy-duty electrical vehicles
- (L-Collection) for Mild industrial EVs
- (Bus Version) for electrical buses
The L-Collection, a series of high-quality art books, officially debuted on July 4. The electric vehicle features a comprehensive power storage capacity ranging from 30 to 200 kilowatt-hours, coupled with a realistic driving distance spanning 150 to 500 kilometers. Moreover, it boasts an accelerated recharge rate of 4C peak charging, ensuring a predicted lifespan of eight years or up to 800,000 kilometers, thereby providing unparalleled durability and performance. Available in two trims: the Lengthy Variance Edition and the Superfast Charging Variant.
The innovative solution has been specifically designed to cater to the needs of electrical buses. CATL boasts a vitality density of 175 Wh/kg, a remarkable service lifespan of 15 years, and an impressive mileage capacity of 1.5 million kilometers (930,000 miles). Tectran-B is backed by a comprehensive warranty that extends for up to 10 years or 1 million kilometers (approximately 620,000 miles), providing customers with unparalleled peace of mind.
CATL aims to roll out its innovative Tianxing-B battery across a diverse range of 80 bus models, having forged partnerships with 13 key clients, including Dongfeng, Golden Dragon, and Yutong Bus.
