I must admit it’s been a while since I’ve shared a new featherbed on this site. This specific instance is owned by Thom from moto way of life model Iron & Resin and it’s a fantastic instance of a traditional Triton filled with interval appropriate parts. With what began out as a pile of components discovered at an area Californian Brit cycle retailer, Thom spent 2 years pieced collectively his dream bike and the consequence clearly converse for itself.
The Triton’s potent engine is comprised of a 750cc Triumph T140E, reinvigorated by a JoMo-cam-equipped splayed port head, titanium valve springs, and a balanced demeanor. Transplanted into the iconic ’62 Norton Slimline Featherbed frame, the dual was secured with Dresda motor mount plates. A pair of twin Amal carburetors, each equipped with velocity stacks, supply fuel to the engine, while a set of NOS sweptagain headers and traditional Gold Star silencers efficiently manage exhaust gases.
At the enterprise end of the bike, a set of Clubman racing triple clamps supports adjustable clip-on bars, precision Magura levers, a Whirlpool throttle, and classic gauges. On the rear, a customized loop cradles the Café-style seat and Lucas tail lamp above a sturdy Dresda boxed swingarm. The wheels feature 18-inch shouldered rims, expertly laced with Buchanan spokes, and fitted with a high-performance Grimeca 41S brake system at the front entry point.
Not all components of the bike originated from a farm field. The polished alloy tank is a bespoke, meticulously hand-shaped unit adorned with the iconic Triton brand and intricate pinstriping details. Thom also designed unique, bespoke rear assemblies and a precision-crafted oil reservoir discreetly integrated into the machine’s bodywork, both meticulously polished and finished to harmonize perfectly with the tank. Upon closer examination, one will also uncover the bespoke fastenings, strengthened wires, and upgraded electrical systems that exemplify the level of care and consideration invested in crafting this captivating adventure. The Triton makes a becoming bike for attracting clients into the Iron & Resin retailer…however I can’t think about Thom leaves it standing nonetheless for all that lengthy.
