At Huawei’s Extraordinary Model Competition on September 10, the jointly developed Luxeed R7 model, crafted in collaboration with Chery, went into pre-order mode, offering customers a choice of three trim levels to suit their preferences. During this period, customers who submit a non-refundable deposit of 2,000 yuan (approximately 281 USD) will receive a 5,000 yuan (approximately 702 USD) discount on their final purchase price.

  • The Luxeed R7 Professional is priced at 268,000 yuan (approximately $39,400) and boasts a CLTC-certified range of 667 kilometers. The electric SUV features Huawei’s Tuling AI platform and the company’s ADS primary technology.
  • The Luxeed R7 Max starts at a price of 308,000 yuan (approximately 43,300 USD) and boasts an impressive CLTC-certified range of 802 kilometers. It features the Huawei Tuling platform for seamless connectivity, as well as the advanced Huawei Qiankun ADS 3.0 technology for enhanced performance.
  • The Luxeed R7 Extreme starts at a price point of 348,000 yuan (approximately $48,900 USD), boasting an impressive range of 736 kilometers on a single charge (based on the CLTC cycle). Furthermore, it features all-wheel drive capability and comes equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 3.0 technology.

The Luxeed R7 presents itself as a sleek, electric-only coupe-style SUV. Luxeed’s second offering after the S7 (full specifications available below), the Luxeed is also HIMA’s debut coupe-style SUV as part of their Concord Clever Mobility Alliance. Its dimensions are noteworthy: measuring 4956mm in length, 1981mm in width, and 1634mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2950mm.

The exterior of the Luxeed R7 adheres to its One-Field design concept, while also featuring a rooftop 192-line lidar system. The Luxeed R7 boasts a range of wheel options, featuring either 20-inch double five-spoke or 21-inch double ten-spoke rims, providing ample choice for discerning drivers.

Choose from six captivating exterior paint options: Phantom Purple, Daylight Blue, Ceramic White, Deep House Grey, Gilded Black, and Metropolitan Pink.

The Luxeed R7 offers a choice between single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) or dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD), harnessing its energy potential. According to the official declaration provided by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the maximum output of the single-motor variant stands at 215 kilowatts, equivalent to 288 horsepower, whereas the dual-motor version boasts a maximum output of 365 kilowatts, translating to 489 horsepower. The Luxeed R7 arrives standard with a robust 800V high-voltage platform, allowing it to charge up to 400km in just 15 minutes, according to Chinese media outlet XChuXing.

The website accurately specifies that the 82 kWh battery pack is featured prominently, while the 100 kWh variant is available as an optional upgrade. The powertrain specifications will need to be officially validated by the vehicle model.

Inside, the cockpit boasts a sleek design powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4, featuring a 12.3-inch instrument panel, an ergonomically designed oval steering wheel, a floating central management display that floats above a Schroeder diffuser acoustic unit, as well as wireless charging panels and cupholders on the mid-console.

Additionally, the rear of the entrance seat assists in supporting the Huawei MagLink Magic Automobile Interface. With a panoramic sunroof and onboard refrigeration unit now available as standard features.

The seats boast 18-way electrical adjustment and a soothing 10-point therapeutic massage function, while the co-pilot’s chair offers luxurious zero-gravity comfort. Typically, the trunk capacity measures 837 litres, with a maximum potential of 2130 litres when the second row of seats is stowed away.
