As two friends took control of Tamarit Bikes, Conrado found himself forced to endure their enthusiastic display of the bicycles’ features? Ultimately, his curiosity got the better of him. While browsing the Tamarit website, he came across a captivating portfolio that caught his eye, featuring a striking Triumph Thruxton 900 cafe racer dubbed ‘Stalker’. As one consequence flowed from another, he found himself standing at the reception desk of Tamarit HQ, inputting his order with a mixture of trepidation and resolve.
“At Tamarit, we emphasize that we will never create the same bicycle twice.” We are dedicated to preserving the exclusive nature of our relationships with clients. According to Tamarit’s head of marketing, Raquel Morales, “When a buyer expresses enthusiasm for one of our previous builds, it allows us to gauge their preference for a specific aesthetic direction in their own bike.” With the Thruxton 900 Stalker serving as inspiration, the Tamarit design team tailored a unique solution to meet Conrado’s distinct personal preferences.
The Tamarit Stalker marked a milestone as the company’s 50th customized creation, specifically classified as a “pure cafe racer”. With an impressive portfolio of 77 high-performance builds under their belt, Tamarit has leveraged this expertise to introduce innovative techniques and significantly expand their Thruxton-specific component offerings, further solidifying the company’s reputation for excellence upon project completion. With fresh expertise and cutting-edge resources at their fingertips, the Tamarit team embarked upon a pioneering Thruxton 900 project titled Rúbrica, marking a new era of innovation in motorcycle design.
“In highlighting the unique aspects of the Thruxton 900’s heritage, Tamarit emphasizes the distinctive cut-up seat as a key feature to consider.” Their aim was to replace the Thruxton’s utilitarian plastic cowl and lengthy seat with a classic-inspired saddle that evoked a bygone era. The setup’s entrance portion floats above the seat pan in a manner reminiscent of the sprung saddles found on a classic Triumph Bobber motorcycle. The rear seat cushion is attached to the fender, providing a limited amount of space for posterior seating.
With an aesthetic reminiscent of the enigmatic Stalker, Conrado’s Thruxton proudly dons a set of slash-cut Tamarit Speedster exhausts, their bold design slicing through the air with purposeful intent. The Ruby aspect covers expose a set of Okay&N pod filters whereas nonetheless leaving sufficient area to stash all the bikes ugly electrics.
The Rubrica sits significantly lower than a standard Thruxton 900. To achieve optimal results, Tamarit reduced the entrance threshold’s dimensions and installed it using a specially designed trio of bushings. The retro-style exterior springs offer exceptional durability alongside impressive aesthetics, far outshining the utilitarian appeal of traditional rubber gaiters. To ensure optimal performance and handling, Tamarit subsequently fitted shorter Hagon shocks to the rear axle.
Upon closer examination, a sleek Motogadget Motoscope Mini is discreetly integrated within the custom-designed headstock clamp. Enhanced fork caps feature refined internal mechanics, while inventory bars showcase upgraded aggression courtesy of Kustom Tech’s high-performance clip-on upgrades.
To refine the Triumph’s silhouette, Tamarit employed a grinder to carefully shape and smooth out the motorcycle’s contours. The rear subframe of Rúbrica’s customized design was specifically crafted for this mission, showcasing its unique features. Unlike the Stalker, this bike’s hoop lies flush, ensuring a more secure fit for riders. A sleek new bike features a retractable hoop that seamlessly integrates with the rear end, complemented by a bright LED taillight for enhanced visibility. The licence plate rests on a hugger-style bracket positioned just behind the rear wheel.
Additional Motogadget upgrades emerge in the form of advanced switches and stylish bar-end indicators. The chopped fenders expertly expose the rugged Victory tires, their vintage aesthetic greatly enhanced by this design choice. To compensate for the absence of safety offered by the modified fender, Tamarit has retrofitted its own custom-engineered crash plate.
Conrado entrusted the Tamarit team with oversight of all finishes on the Triumph, aside from the paintwork. He specified a rich midnight blue hue that has been applied to the gas tank and aspect cowl scallops, while reserving a striking chromed finish for the rest of the motorcycle’s aesthetic.
“We decided to substitute chromed trim for the traditional satin finish on this customised Thruxton 900.” We applied a chrome plating to the entire engine and the bike’s exterior finishes. This added an extra layer of sophistication and refinement to its conclusion.
As expected, Conrado feels just as at ease on his Tamarit Triumph as his two friends do. As Spain’s premier bespoke Triumph specialist, they’ve achieved a trifecta of success with their third consecutive win. Who could have predicted that?
