The Zeekr brand introduces its seventh iteration, a new mannequin, ‘7X’, which will hit the market in late September as part of its fifth overall release under the Zeekr umbrella. The Zeekr brand showcases its diverse range of models, featuring the 001 Liftback, 009 Minivan, X Crossover, and 007 Sedan.

Zeekr’s highly anticipated 7X model is expected to secure a massive 20,000 pre-orders.

Within a week of commencing presales, Zeekr’s Chief Marketing Officer Guan Haitao revealed that the Zeekr 7X garnered an impressive 20,000 orders. The automaker made its latest model available for ordering at the Chengdu Motor Show on August 30. Zeekr officials have publicly disclosed the entry-level pricing for their new SUV. Starting at a price of approximately $33,850, this luxury item begins at an affordable ¥239,900. At a significantly lower price point, this model is a whopping 10,000 yuan (approximately $1,410 USD) more affordable than its homegrown counterpart, the Tesla Model Y.

The costs of various trim levels for the 7X remain undisclosed until further notice. Despite prior statements from Zeekr officials indicating that the top-tier trim of this midsize SUV would carry a price tag under 300,000 yuan (approximately $42,300), Meanwhile, the priciest Model Y variant costs a staggering 354,900 yuan (£41,000), equivalent to approximately $50,050 USD, in China. Zeekr must emphasize the Mannequin Y’s substantial sales volume.

It’s worth noting that the Tesla Model Y already faces a plethora of formidable competitors in China, including the BYD Sealion 07 EV, Xpeng G6, Aito M5, Denza N7, Deepal S07, Neta L, Leapmotor C11, Jiyue 01, and many others. Despite initial skepticism, the American SUV has solidified its position as the top-selling crossover in China, with an impressive 244,116 units sold during the first seven months of the year. Will the Zeekr 7X unexpectedly evolve into a game-changer in China?
