Kia has unveiled pricing for its 2025 Niro Hybrid and Niro PHEV models, effective as of last Friday. The existing model will remain in the lineup for 2025, but expect additional fees to be implemented at a future point.
The Hyundai Kona Hybrid starts at $28,365 in its base LX trim level, including a destination fee of $1,375, consistent with the 2024 model year. The cost of living will increase by a modest $50 from 2023 to 2024? The trim levels for this model now include a LX base variant, as well as EX ($31,165), EX Touring ($33,465), SX ($34,365), and SX Touring ($35,390) options.
2025 Kia Niro
The Hyundai Kona PHEV is available exclusively from 2022 onwards, priced at $35,865 to drive away and $42,165 including destination fees, respectively. The bottom value is a straightforward $100 higher than that of the 2024 model.
Minimal adjustments were made to the 2025 model year. Innovative rear-seatbelt pretensioners are now standard across all grade levels, while the SX Touring plug-in hybrid model further elevates luxury with its addition of heated rear seats and an advanced temperature-controlled heating system. These insulation options are designed to retain occupant warmth in cold temperatures while consuming significantly less power to preserve electrical supply.
2025 Kia Niro
The hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions utilize a 1.6-liter inline-four engine paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission featuring a integrated electric motor. Rated at 139 horsepower, the model surpasses the Niro PHEV’s output by 41 horsepower due to an additional high-performance electric motor, which, along with both versions boasting 195 pound-feet of torque. The Niro PHEV’s 11.1-kWh battery pack enables all-electric driving capabilities, whereas the Niro Hybrid relies solely on its internal combustion engine for propulsion.
The Kia Niro entered its current generation in 2023, debuting an unconventional design language while emphasizing enhanced fuel efficiency. As a result, the hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants pose a significant challenge to the market dominance of the Toyota Prius and Prius Prime, respectively. The Niro also functions as an entry point to Hyundai’s expanding hybrid crossover portfolio, which includes not only its own hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants but also those of the larger Sportage and Sorento, with the forthcoming Carnival Hybrid minivan slated to arrive in 2025.
