The United States’ top-selling electric van has undergone a significant upgrade, boasting faster and more versatile charging capabilities. Ford announced Wednesday the launch of its revamped 2024 E-Transit electric van in North America, now boasting an expanded range for customers.
Following the introduction of the E-Transit in 2020, Ford revamped the sports edition of its top-selling Transit van to feature an all-electric powertrain. Since its debut in 2022, the E-Transit has consistently dominated the electric vehicle van market, retaining its position as the best-selling EV van to date.
Despite the emergence of rival electric van offerings from Rivian and General Motors, Ford’s E-Transit remains a dominant force in the market. Ford’s electric van retained its title as America’s top-selling electric van, with more than 6,301 units sold in the first half of 2024, nearly doubling its sales from the previous year alone.
Ford’s E-Transit achieved a record-breaking quarterly performance in Q2 2024, with an impressive 3,401 units sold, marking the highest sales milestone since its launch in 2022.
Significantly, Ford reports that over four-fifths of its current E-Transit customers are repeat buyers, driven by the appeal of reduced maintenance and fuel costs associated with electric vehicles.

It can quickly reduce costs by up to 80% within just 28 minutes.
The 2024 E-Transit now features twin onboard chargers, enabling it to accelerate its charging time by 22% when utilising Ford’s advanced 80A Series 2 charger and software solution, allowing for faster recharging on-the-go.
The enhanced battery life and rapid charging capabilities enable increased usage scenarios, such as refrigerated transportation, potentially unlocking a vast new market for Ford.
