Tesla revives referral program, offers $1,000 discount on electric vehicles

Tesla brings back referral program and $1,000 off its electric cars

Tesla is reviving its owner referral program and reinstating the larger incentive of a $1,000 discount on its electric vehicles.

In April, Tesla brought a close to its long-standing referral program, which had experienced varying degrees of availability over the past decade.

For several years, the automaker had significantly reduced incentives to participate, rendering them a far less integral component of its overall advertising strategy.

Tesla is reviving its referral program, this time with significantly enhanced incentives.

What’s in it for you? Earn $500 by referring anyone to buy a brand-new Tesla and get them $1,000 off their purchase

Can be allocated towards Supercharging, software updates, merchandise, service credits, or a new Tesla.

When a newcomer acquires a Model S, Model X, Model Y or Model 3 via another individual’s referral code, they’ll receive a $1,000 discount on their new electric vehicle, and the referrer will earn $500 that can be redeemed towards any Tesla product, including vehicles.

The final half is new. The latest program provides codes applicable only to a limited selection of products offered through Tesla’s mobile application.

Tesla homeowners can now earn credits on their account, redeemable for the purchase of a new vehicle, making this program significantly more appealing.

Electrek’s Take

Tesla takes demand to new heights by launching an innovative referral program that drives customers back to the brand.

The last two referral packages did not stand out as exceptional. Having accumulated over one million Supercharger miles in my Tesla history, I was left with a sense of frustration when the company refused to allow me to transfer or donate these benefits, ultimately rendering them obsolete. Meanwhile, I’ve earned numerous Tesla referral credits, but their practical value is limited.

The immediacy of utilizing these credits for new vehicles is likely to significantly incentivize individuals to participate in the program.
