You learn that proper. Ford EV owners can save up to 100% on their home energy bills without spending a dime thanks to its new partnership with TXU Power. Ford and TXU have unveiled a pioneering initiative in Texas, offering complimentary EV charging solutions to homeowners within select timeframes.

Texans can enjoy complimentary electric vehicle (EV) charging throughout the state thanks to a new program from Ford.

Ford has rolled out its innovative TXU Free EV Miles initiative, aimed at significantly lowering the costs of home charging for Texas customers.

This innovative system enables Ford Electric Vehicle owners to charge their cars at home without incurring any costs between 7:00 pm and 1:00 am the following day. This service provides a year-round availability, allowing drivers to utilize the benefit within an 18-hour time frame without incurring any costs?

With the FordPass app and the car’s intuitive touchscreen, drivers enjoy seamless scheduling flexibility, making the most of their free time effortlessly.

Ford EV owners in Texas will receive a unique credit score on their TXU Energy bill based on the renewable energy produced by the Ford-owned solar panels installed at their homes, allowing them to offset the cost of charging their electric vehicles. The Ford Intelligent Charging System allows Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning owners to charge their vehicles without incurring additional costs when parked at home, given that more than 80% of EV charging occurs at residential locations.

By leveraging this innovative platform, Ford aims to educate motorists on the benefits of driving electric vehicles while encouraging charging during periods of low grid demand.

“Ford’s electric SUVs and vans have already demonstrated a significant reduction in operating and maintenance costs compared to their gasoline-powered counterparts. Furthermore, home charging options offer additional financial incentives,” said Bill Coughlin, Ford’s Senior Director of Global Charging and Power Systems.

As Ford assesses interest in its innovative energy-saving solutions, the company is poised to unveil a plethora of game-changing opportunities for future power management. Drivers participating in this program will enjoy additional incentives.
