BYD has unveiled its 2025 Seal electric sedan, which boasts cutting-edge Silicon Carbide technology and an 800-volt high-voltage architecture. Now, the sedan boasts a pioneering LiDAR sensor situated atop the roof, marking a first for BYD sedans, and significantly enhances its cutting-edge Superior Driver Help Programs (ADAS) functionality.

Mannequin Worth
510 Normal Version 175,800 yuan (24,500 USD)
650 Lengthy Vary Version 189,800 yuan (26,450 USD)
650 Clever Driving Version 216,800 yuan (30,200 USD)
Revolutionary 4×4 Intelligent Navigation Edition 239,800 yuan (33,400 USD)

Built upon the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, the same foundation as the Sealion 07, whose specifications can be found here. The car is equipped with a cutting-edge 1,200V silicon carbide (SiC) power management system, coupled with a potent 23,000 rpm electric motor that reaches a top speed of 240 km/h and achieves 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.8 seconds. With the incorporation of cutting-edge Cell-to-Body (CTB) battery technology, a sophisticated wide-temperature heat pump system, and compatibility with 800V systems, this innovation enables a remarkable charging range of 10%-80% in just 25 minutes.

The 2025 Seal offers two battery options: a 61.44-kilowatt-hour (kWh) or an 80.64-kWh choice, providing a certified last-twentymile charge (CLTC) range of 510 kilometers (km) to 650 km. A high-performance electric vehicle features a base model with a 170-kilowatt rear motor capable of producing 228 horsepower, while more potent options include a 230-kilowatt variant generating 308 horsepower? At its peak, this top-tier model unleashes a potent 390 kilowatts (523 horsepower), coupled seamlessly with all-wheel drive capabilities.

The 2025 Seal leverages its upgraded chassis by incorporating BYD’s innovative Dius system. This upgrade significantly boosts the suspension’s overall flexibility, stability, comfort, and responsiveness. The four-wheel-drive variant also features a superior damping management system for added capability.

The newly launched mannequin maintains its existing proportions, boasting dimensions of 4800 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1460 mm in height, while its 2920 mm wheelbase ensures a seamless continuation of its design and physical attributes. Design updates are delicate. The Seal has been revamped to feature a newly designed interior. The interior features a distinctive four-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, paired with BYD’s hallmark large, centrally located floating infotainment display that can be easily rotated for improved visibility. The interior boasts a sleek mid-console design, boasting physical buttons, discreet air-conditioning vents, and wireless charging pads seamlessly integrated throughout. All fashion trends come into common vogue with 13 advanced airbags and a Wide-View High Definition head-up display.

The redesigned sedan boasts a cutting-edge LiDAR sensor, significantly elevating the advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) for enhanced safety and driving experience. This upgrade substantially enhances the vehicle’s autonomous driving features, seamlessly integrating with the advanced L2+ degree DiPilot 300 technology system. This innovative method combines the benefits of high-speed navigation with the precision of automated valet parking, featuring NOA and AVP options for seamless travel experiences.

The 2025 Mustang retains its iconic identity despite initial proposals to rebrand it as the Mustang Mach-E. Following considerable input from BYD enthusiasts, the name ‘Seal’ gained popularity as the preferred choice for this determination. The BYD Seal EV, since its domestic introduction in China, has yet to break into the top-ten sales chart. It remains to be seen whether this revitalized model can disrupt this established trend.
