Today’s edition of Sunday Screening is brought to you by the team at The Bike Shed London. In a candid conversation, Ross from Bespoke Scale Model Cars joins forces with Calum Pryce-Tidd to discuss the latest project emerging from the renowned DeBolex Engineering workshop, shedding light on its innovative features and craftsmanship. Built on the foundation of an Energica Eva electric motorcycle platform, this unique bike was designed to coincide with the release of Gareth Maxwell Roberts’ documentary “Oil in the Blood”, a celebration of motorcycling culture. Regardless of one’s stance on e-bikes, it’s undeniable that a significant amount of craftsmanship and attention to detail have gone into designing this innovative device. Take a moment to relax with a cold beer, settle in comfortably, and fully appreciate the present.
Within the video, Calum elucidates on the donor vehicle, a streetfighter-inspired Energica Eva, which boasts a formidable powertrain, comprising 145 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque. The Eva Undertaking was commissioned by Dutch watchmaker TW Steel and was unveiled at the premiere of Oil and Blood. Because Eva had already demonstrated remarkable efficiency, DeBolex focused on enhancing the aesthetic appeal by upgrading various components, such as wheels, controls, and suspension. Their aim was to craft a classically influenced racing car with a manufacturing process that achieved a high level of precision and consistency. The entire bicycle’s bodywork started life as flat sheets of aluminum, painstakingly hand-formed to exacting millimeter proportions.
The result – an even more unbelievable creation – was crafted by one of the world’s premier custom motorcycle workshops.
