Recently, Geely and China’s MIIT unveiled additional information regarding the Geely Xingyuan EV. The nomenclature for car models is often designated as “Paipai” or “Totoro,” dependent on the tail emblem. As soon as it launches (tentatively in August), the newcomer will directly compete with models like the BYD Dolphin, whose specs are available for review.

Recently, the Geely Xingyuan underwent high-temperature testing in Turpan, Xinjiang Autonomous Region.

The brand-new automotive was officially declared by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on July 10th. This sleek vehicle boasts a compact yet imposing presence, available in a dual-toned or single-toned finish, measuring 4135mm in length, 1805mm in width, and 1570mm in height, with a wheelbase stretching to 2650mm. The BYD Dolphin’s dimensions include a length of 4125mm, a width of 1770mm, a height of 1570mm, and a wheelbase measuring 2700mm.

Shoppers will have the ability to choose from nine distinct rim styles, including an assortment of four-spoke, five-spoke, and six-spoke designs that cater to various tastes and preferences. The curb weights are 1,215 kilograms and 1,285 kilograms respectively.

The front fascia features a sleek, closed grille reminiscent of those commonly found on electric vehicles, accompanied by angular headlights that mirror the design language of the rear taillights. Optionally available radar and Digicam features will also be accessible. The interior accommodates up to five people, consistent with its typical capacity.

The Geely Xingyuan will feature a bias-free suspension setup throughout its entire model lineup, accompanied by an advanced 11-in-1 electric powertrain and the intuitive Flyme Auto infotainment system, as announced by the manufacturer. Energy will be sourced from either a 58 kW (78 horsepower) or 85 kW (114 horsepower) electric motor, paired with 30.12-kilowatt-hour or 40.16-kilowatt-hour battery packs – both Geely’s self-developed and self-produced Aegis battery technology or supplied by CATL – enabling a CLTC-rated cruising range of either 310 kilometers or 410 kilometers, as per official specifications released by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. At a maximum speed of 135 km/h, the departure and method angles both measure 19 degrees.

The latest rumors surrounding the value tag of the Geely Xingyuan suggest a possible starting price around 80,000 yuan, or approximately $11,000 USD.
