Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles presents its latest offerings: the innovative Transporter and Caravelle, as well as the iconic ID. family. Buzz, and the versatile Multivan. The new Transporter is set to debut its seventh generation, boasting a trio of body styles: Kombi, panel van, and dropside, each catering to distinct needs; alongside the Caravelle, designed specifically for passenger transportation.

The Volkswagen Transporter’s panel van configuration features a dedicated load compartment optimized for transporting goods and materials with ease. The Transporter panel van Plus features a versatile load compartment that doubles as a second seat row, ideal for transporting a mix of goods and passengers in comfort. The Kombi offers flexible transportation solutions as a passenger vehicle, optionally available in a double-cab configuration, built on a robust platform featuring a extended wheelbase design. The Kombi and panel van options come equipped with an optional high-roof design and an extended wheelbase for added versatility.

Volkswagen developed the ‘Caravelle’, an exceptionally versatile model, designed specifically for business passenger transportation, boasting 9 seats and marketed as an ideal solution for shuttles and high-capacity taxis. The new vehicle will be available in three trim levels: a budget-friendly entry-level variant, a mid-range Life edition featuring additional standard features and amenities, and a premium Model model boasting the most advanced technology and luxurious appointments. The Citroën Caravelle can be obtained with a prolonged wheelbase.

The PanAmericana will boast a robust all-terrain design and distinctive tool features, debuting alongside the Transporter and Caravelle in the latest iteration.

VW Transporter drive ranges

The newly developed plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), boasting a system energy output of 171 kW (232 horsepower), can now be pre-ordered, featuring standard front-wheel drive configuration.

Three high-performance electrical drives, boasting outputs of 100 kW (136 horsepower), 160 kW (218 horsepower), and 210 kW (286 horsepower), will soon arrive with a substantial internet battery capacity of 64 kilowatt-hours. Will there be an electric model featuring reduced energy consumption and a compact battery designed specifically for urban transportation applications? The all-electric fashion line features rear-wheel drive (RWD), with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) model planned for release at a later date.

VW Transporter specs

The Volkswagen Bulli van line pays homage to the iconic Microbus, boasting characteristic features reminiscent of its predecessor, such as “the bold and prominent front panel, generous seating capacity, and intuitive ergonomics of all control elements.”

The all-new Transporter boasts a substantial growth, measuring 5,050 mm in length, representing a notable increase of 146 mm compared to its predecessor, the T6.1. The vehicle’s wheelbase has been extended by 97 millimeters to 3,100 millimeters, with the option to further elongate it by 400 millimeters, resulting in a total length of 5,450 millimeters. At 2,032 mm, the vehicle’s external width has increased by 128 mm when excluding exterior mirrors.

With its increased dimensions – including height, width, and wheelbase – the newly released Transporter boasts an impressive expansion in load capacity. With its extended wheelbase and versatile roof configurations, the vehicle can now comfortably carry up to 9 cubic metres (317.8 cubic feet) of cargo.

The USB-A, USB-C, and 12-volt sockets are standard features, with the electric transporter also offering the option to provide two additional outlets. The total output of a 230V system reaches up to 2,300 watts, capable of powering devices ranging from laptops to power tools like electrical saws.

The Transporter’s low-profile design, featuring a roof no higher than 2 meters (6.5 feet), allows for seamless integration into typical multi-storey parking facilities. With its conventional wheelbase, the vehicle boasts a compact turning circle of 11.8 metres (38.7 feet), making it effortlessly navigable through even the most constricted curves. With a maximum payload capacity of 1.33 tonnes and the ability to tow trailers up to 2.8 tonnes, depending on the specific variant.
