Overview

Since its introduction in 1985, Honda’s Insight has remained largely unchanged, with one notable exception: the launch of the 2017 Insight 500, which aimed to bridge the gap between the 300 and larger 750cc and 1,100cc models. The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is available in three trim levels: Base, ABS-equipped, and feature-rich SE.

Like its smaller sibling, the iconic 300, the new Insurgent 500 features a robust parallel-twin powerplant. The engine is a liquid-cooled, 471cc powerplant that boasts double-overhead camshafts and 4 valves per cylinder, optimising performance and efficiency. The engine features Honda’s advanced Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) technology, coupled with 34mm throttle bodies for precise fuel delivery. Energy is efficiently distributed to a sophisticated six-speed gearbox and expertly managed through an advanced help/slipper clutch.

The Insurgent 500’s ergonomic design features a laid-back seating position, complemented by mid-mounted foot controls and an even reach to the handlebars. This ultra-low seat measures just 27.2 inches from the floor, rendering the bike accessible to a broad spectrum of cyclists.

Suspension performance is managed by a 41mm fork providing 12 centimeters of travel, combined with two rear shocks delivering 9.7 centimeters of travel. Solid aluminum wheels feature a combination of 130/90-16 and 150/80-16 tire sizes for the front and rear, respectively.

Pricing and Variants

The Insurgent 500 is available in Pearl Black and Matte Laurel Green Metallic, priced at $6,499. The Insurgent 500 ABS is also offered in these two colors, with a price tag of $6,799. For those seeking an upgraded experience, the Insurgent 500 ABS SE is available in Pearl Smoky Grey for $6,999.
