While the model’s gas efficiency and performance have garnered praise, a notable drawback is that customers seeking all-wheel-drive capability must opt for non-hybrid variants instead. That adjustments for 2025.

The 2025 Ford Maverick undergoes a mid-cycle refresh, featuring subtle styling revisions and the addition of enhanced technology features. The front-wheel-drive Maverick hybrid is expected to operate seamlessly, alongside its non-hybrid counterpart featuring a potent 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Accessible on XL, XLT, and Lariat trim levels, excluding the off-road-capable Tremor grade, the all-wheel-drive hybrid pairs a 2.5-liter inline-four engine with a 94-kilowatt electric motor to deliver 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque.

Despite their unconventional nature, Maverick hybrid models are capable of hauling a substantial ton, while the introduction of a novel 4K Towing Package – also available for non-hybrid variants – significantly boosts maximum towing capacity to an impressive 4,000 pounds. With a maximum payload capacity of 1,500 pounds when equipped with front-wheel drive or 1,400 pounds when fitted with all-wheel drive, the hybrid boasts impressive hauling capabilities.

While Ford didn’t provide fuel economy estimates for its all-wheel drive hybrid variant, it’s expected that the front-wheel drive models will retain their previous ratings. This hybrid pickup truck surpasses all other gasoline-powered models in terms of efficiency.

Ford’s expansion into offering an all-wheel-drive option for the Maverick hybrid signals a significant widening of availability. Due to a global semiconductor shortage, manufacturing was severely restricted for the 2022 model year, according to Ford. The company’s experiences have revealed that Ford underestimated the unprecedented level of demand for its hybrid vehicles, leading to a commitment to manufacture more models in the future.

The 2025 Ford Maverick has been refreshed, boasting a new exterior design focused on the front end, alongside an enhanced technology package. The new model leverages the Ford Sync 4 infotainment system, offering seamless connectivity via Wi-Fi-based Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, accompanied by an upgraded 12.3-inch display screen replacing the previous 8.0-inch setup. The 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster is a common feature in modern vehicles.

The all-new suite of driver-assistance technologies features a comprehensive 360-degree digital camera system, augmented by advanced trailer-hitch guidance and backup assistance capabilities, as well as innovative towing options, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane-centering assist, and visitor-detection alert for select trim levels.

Ford has rescinded a recent change to its 2024 pricing strategy, reinstating the front-wheel drive hybrid as the entry-level option in the lineup. With a mandatory $1,595 vacation package fee. Ford has not yet disclosed pricing for its all-wheel-drive hybrid, but indicated that it will likely debut on the XL, XLT, and Lariat trim levels, omitting only the top-tier Tremor off-road variant.
