Established as the oldest European motorcycle manufacturer with a rich legacy, Moto Guzzi’s storied history is deeply rooted in the heritage of the iconic V7 Racer. Launched in 2011 and discontinued in 2016, the V7 Racer pays tribute to the iconic V7 motorcycle of the 1960s. Renowned for its pioneering transverse V-twin engine, the V7 established a benchmark for unprecedented efficiency and reliability. With its blend of classic design elements harmoniously merged with cutting-edge innovation, the 2011 V7 Racer embodied the spirit of heritage in its very essence. The motorcycle’s bold design was marked by its distinctive pink bodywork, gleaming chrome gas tank, and vintage-tinged panels, all paying homage to the iconic V7’s storied racing heritage.
The intention behind this design was to reimagine the iconic V7 Racer as a sophisticated reworking of the classic cafe racer aesthetic. The development process for the V7’s pointed design has commenced, where the Barras brothers have opted to replace the standard triple clamp and forks with high-quality Öhlins components. The bike’s performance is further enhanced by additional working gear upgrades, which include basic spoked wheels sourced from renowned Italian manufacturer Jonich and fitted with high-quality Pirelli rubber. The rear end boasts Kayaba adjustable rear shocks, a signature feature of the V7 Racer model.
With the upgrade dealings, Indignant Lane’s V7 Racer benefits significantly from the incorporation of racing-inspired bodywork designs. The FRP (fiberglass-reinforced polymer) half-cowl surrounding the entrance finish originates from reputable racing bodywork manufacturers, Airtech Streamlining. A sleek, custom-acrylic windscreen has been expertly paired with LSL’s innovative clip-on handlebars, allowing for seamless and unrestricted movement. The custom-designed aluminum cowl at the rear is intricately linked with the unique plastic cowl, yet it confers long-lasting durability and energetic performance to the overall setup.
The motorcycle features a sleek ensemble of Motogadget components mounted to its LSL bars, comprising ergonomic grips, stylish mirrors, and innovative bar-end flip indicators that add a touch of modernity to the overall aesthetic. With its origins in Germany, the clutch lever from Magura takes centre stage amidst the cockpit’s sleek design, where a vintage-inspired Motogadget Chronoclassic speedometer commands attention. The V7’s powertrain, now flaunting a bold blacked-out aesthetic, proudly showcases its ceramic-coated cylinders and heads for all to admire. The rear units feature a custom-designed exhaust system provided by Baak, while the facet covers receive a subtle yet striking black treatment to harmonize with the overall dark aesthetic.
Within its new Tricolore paint scheme and vibrant graphics, this Guzzi truly comes alive. The striking pink, white, and beige colour scheme honours both the iconic V7 and Ducati’s rich Italian legacy. Ben Barras’ in-house design showcases a crisp pearl white base, expertly complemented by bold Italian flag accents on the fairing, tank, and rear cowl, creating a striking visual effect. Despite its bold bodywork being a stark contrast to the black engine and transmission, the V7’s striking candy-red chassis and swingarm tie everything together seamlessly.
Indignant Lane’s V7 Racer masterfully fuses classic Italian flair with timeless cafe racer style, incorporating cutting-edge technology for a truly modern twist. This sleek motorbike turns heads wherever it goes, leaving its owner undeniably thrilled with this exceptional addition to their collection.
