Zeekr X launched in China's international hub, Hong Kong, with RHD

Zeekr, Geely’s premium electric vehicle brand, has introduced the Zeekr X, a compact SUV, in Hong Kong after its debut in Thailand on July 11. The model boasts impressive specifications, including… (remaining specs) As a global gateway, Hong Kong plays a pivotal role in China’s international landscape, underscoring Zeekr’s commitment to expanding its global footprint with this strategic initiative.

On July 17, Zeekr successfully expanded its offerings by launching two right-hand drive variants of the Zeekr X, including a single-motor rear-wheel drive option and a more powerful dual-motor four-wheel drive configuration. Priced at $249,900 HKD ($31,800 USD), the only-motor variant unleashes a potent peak motor energy output of 200 kW, backed by a substantial 343 Nm of torque, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. The dual-motor variant is priced at 269,900 HKD, equivalent to approximately 34,600 USD, and boasts a combined peak motor output of 315 kilowatts alongside 543 Newton meters of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.8 seconds. The electric vehicles are equipped with a 66 kWh battery pack, providing a WLTP range of 440 kilometres for one model and 420 kilometres for the other.

The Zeekr X boasts an impressive array of sensing technologies, featuring five high-resolution cameras, five advanced millimeter-wave radar units, and a total of twelve ultrasonic sensors strategically positioned to provide a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of its surroundings. The Zeekr AD also offers advanced driver assistance systems, featuring adaptive cruise control and intelligent lane-changing support. The Zeekr X features an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster, a high-definition 24.3-inch head-up display, and a 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can slide forward to face the passenger.

Starting July 20, Hong Kong residents can experience the innovative Zeekr vehicles up close by visiting the brand’s showrooms, including the Zeekr Area in Wanchai and the Zeekr Gallery in Taikoo Shing.

The Zeekr X, built on Geely’s innovative Sustainable Electrical Structure (SEA) framework, boasts dimensions of 4,450mm in length, 1,836mm in width, and 1,572mm in height, with a wheelbase measuring 2,750mm. The mannequin debuted in China on April 12, 2023, with an initial offering of three distinct variants; subsequent updates have continued to refine its performance.

Zeekr announces its plan to make the Zeekr X a truly global offering, commencing pre-orders of the right-hand drive variant in Thailand on March 25, followed by an official launch on July 11. Primary right-hand-drive SUVs began production on June 6, with deliveries scheduled for the third quarter. Zeekr aims to expand its presence to 50 markets by the end of 2024, having already established a footprint in more than 25 markets. During the Hong Kong event, Vice President Chen Yu touted Zeekr’s forward-thinking approach, underscoring its commitment to innovation and global expansion through its Zeekr X and forthcoming Zeekr 009 models.
