Hyundai confirms new three-row electric SUV and updated IONIQ 5 are coming soon
SHARE

It’s official. Hyundai has officially confirmed what many of us had anticipated: The all-new three-row electric Hyundai SUV is set to debut in the US later this year, offering a glimpse into the future of eco-friendly mobility. Hyundai is set to unveil a brand-new electric sport utility vehicle (SUV), which will debut simultaneously with an updated IONIQ 5 in its 2025 model range.

As the US transitions towards electric vehicles, Hyundai is poised to capitalize on this trend. Hyundai credits a 15% surge in electric vehicle (EV) sales for the company’s sweet spot in the US market during the second quarter.

Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 models achieved remarkable quarterly performance, establishing new highs for gross sales in Q2 and bolstering the brand’s market share. Despite intensifying competition, Hyundai’s US CEO, Randy Parker, remains fairly optimistic about the company’s prospects for the second half of 2024.

Next year, Hyundai plans to introduce several key models to sustain its growth momentum. Hyundai has officially announced the upcoming launch of its all-new IONIQ three-row electric SUV, set to arrive later this year, accompanied by a refreshed IONIQ 5 for the 2025 model year.

Hyundai’s larger electric SUV has been long anticipated, but now, after much speculation, the South Korean automaker has finally revealed its official debut date. Hyundai has confirmed plans to unveil its latest innovation, the three-row IONIQ electric vehicle (EV), at a global premiere scheduled to take place later this year.

Here is the rewritten text in a different style:

Hyundai’s conceptual three-row IONIQ 7, dubbed SEVEN, redefines the electric SUV landscape with its innovative design and advanced technology.

While Hyundai first introduced the “SEVEN” concept in 2021, recent research suggests that this innovative model might be rebranded as the IONIQ 9.

Hyundai will unveil a revolutionary three-row electric SUV and the highly anticipated IONIQ 5, further solidifying its commitment to sustainability and innovation in the automotive industry.

The electric SUV has been spotted undergoing various tests in the wild, including appearances in California. Recent research suggests that the novel design of the new model deviates significantly from Kia’s EV9, appearing more streamlined and less angular in its proportions.

Like Hyundai’s dedicated electric vehicles (including those from Kia), the innovative three-row electric SUV is built on the versatile E-GMP platform, boasting an impressive range exceeding 300 miles, rapid recharge times of under 20 minutes, and cutting-edge software capabilities.

Hyundai is expected to release an updated version of the IONIQ 5 in 2025, potentially introducing new features and enhancements. The official details will be disclosed later this summer.

Meanwhile, we’ve gained insight into what to expect from the latest model, which has already made its debut in South Korea. Hyundai unveiled a refreshed version of the IONIQ 5 in its domestic market in March, featuring an enlarged battery, a sleek redesigned exterior, and an additional rear wiper for enhanced visibility.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 replaces?

The Hyundai IONIQ 5’s electric range has been significantly boosted with its new 84 kWh battery pack, increasing driving distances by up to 27 kilometers or 17 miles in South Korea, reaching a maximum of approximately 485 kilometers or 301 miles. The device rapidly recharges from 10% to 80% in under 18 minutes.

Hyundai has officially confirmed that the 2025 IONIQ 5 will be the inaugural model to emerge from its newly established $7.6 billion electric-vehicle manufacturing facility in Georgia, with production slated for later this year. Electric vehicles (EVs) built at the factory are expected to be eligible for the $7,500 tax credit, according to Jose Munoz, Hyundai’s global chief operating officer.
