Despite some reservations, this truck handles decently on both common roads and off-road terrain. I’ve tested various full-suspension fat-tire electric bikes that felt significantly stiffer and less comfortable in practice; therefore, the Heybike Horizon successfully achieved a remarkable balance by offering excellent suspension that genuinely feels like it’s doing its job effectively.
If you require something that withstands minor impacts and scratches on a daily basis, this product is up to the task. If you’re seeking a downhill mountain bike or looking to tackle challenging terrain, this isn’t your best bet.
While there’s a folding function available, I rarely find myself using it to compress large fat-tire e-bikes. As configured, this particular bicycle can weigh in at around 80 pounds, making it a substantial and unwieldy contraption, even when folded for portability.

While the marketed range of 55 miles may seem attainable, reaching it won’t be a straightforward feat – certainly not for an average person like myself. I’m apt to achieve speeds closer to half that amount when I’m heavy on the throttle. While using pedal assist can ultimately increase overall distance traveled, it does have a notable delay on this model due to the cadence sensor’s limitations. While the $1,499 price tag might suggest otherwise, it’s unlikely Heybike would invest in a torque sensor for this e-bike, as such technology is typically found in more expensive models.
As I’m venting, I’ll also admit that the saddle ended up annoying me more than I had expected. As the miles accumulated, an unusual fatigue started setting in far sooner than I was accustomed to.
