Ford is launching an all-electric Puma EV: Here’s what we know so far
SHARE

An all-electric variant of the Ford Puma is expected to hit the market by the end of this year. Bolstered by the brand-new Ford Puma, its electric variant is poised to debut at a starting price under $40,000, featuring unique elements designed to differentiate it from the competition.

Ford’s upcoming “Gen-E” Puma model will occupy a position below the Mustang Mach-E, Explorer Electric, and newly announced Capri EV within the company’s expanding European electric vehicle portfolio?

The Ford Puma’s exceptional popularity in the UK market last year makes a compelling case for introducing an all-electric variant, aligning with the industry’s growing emphasis on eco-friendly transportation options?

Ford is revolutionizing its top-selling vehicle by transforming it into a fully electric compact SUV. The electric vehicle (EV) concept is expected to incorporate some of the latest features found on the new Puma, while boasting unique styling cues.

The all-new Ford Puma, introduced earlier this year, boasts an interior design rich in cutting-edge technology. The all-new sports-inspired cockpit boasts a stunning 12.8-inch digital display and two high-definition 12-inch infotainment screens, seamlessly integrating technology and driver-centric design.

The Ford Motor Company also equipped this model with its advanced SYNC 4 technology, boasting a processing power that is more than double that of its predecessor. The system features seamless integration through a combination of advanced voice recognition technology and intuitive pairing with either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

New Ford Puma (Ford’s Latest Compact Crossover, Supply: Ford of Europe)

As the highly anticipated Ford Puma EV approaches its market debut, electric vehicle enthusiasts are eager to know what lies in store. The latest addition to Ford’s electrified lineup promises to revolutionize the world of compact crossovers, offering an unparalleled blend of performance, efficiency, and eco-friendliness. With its sleek design, cutting-edge technology, and impressive range, the Puma EV is set to captivate drivers looking for a thrilling ride that also does its part for the environment.

The electric vehicle (EV) model is expected to feature updated badging and headlight designs. Will it even boast a sealed grille and reworked entry bumper to amplify efficiency and distinction?

Unlike its Explorer and Capri EV counterparts, the electric Puma won’t ride on Volkswagen’s versatile MEB platform. The electric variant may largely retain its similarities with the gasoline-powered counterpart, sharing the same underlying architecture and platform.

The same underlying architecture powers both the Ford Transit Courier and electric E-Transit Courier. Ford revamped the E-Transit Courier by integrating a solitary 134-horsepower electric motor. Ford’s E-Transit offers a range of powertrain options, including a 215-horsepower unit in the Transit Custom, as well as dual electric motors delivering 181 horsepower and 265 horsepower respectively, in the larger E-Transit model.

Ford’s new Puma EV appears poised to accommodate diverse powertrain options. The Puma EV is expected to boast a 50-to-60 kWh battery, allowing it to achieve a minimum of 250 miles on a single charge.

Ford-Capri-EV
The rumoured revival of Ford’s iconic Capri has finally taken shape with the introduction of the all-electric Capri EV.

The electric Puma will align specifications with those of the recently unveiled Capri EV. Ford’s new Capri electric vehicle offers an impressive range of up to 390 miles (627 km) on a single charge, according to the WLTP standard, when driven in “sports car” mode for maximum efficiency.

Ford aims to revitalise its image in Europe with a fresh range of electric SUVs as it struggles to maintain traction globally.
