On July 16, Chinese automaker Deepal launched reservations for its upgraded Deepal S07 SUV, a revamped version of the popular Deepal S7 model. Customers who pay the 520 yuan ($71) deposit can secure a complimentary upgrade to a premium insulation package worth 2,399 yuan ($331), valued at a whopping discount. The all-new vehicle is set to make its debut at the end of July, with both electric-vehicle (EV) and extended-range electric-vehicle (EREV) options available. The price range for the Deepal S7 varies from approximately 149,900 to 217,900 Chinese yuan, or roughly 20,700 to 30,000 US dollars.
Currently, Deepal’s product offerings comprise the Deepal SL03, S7, and G318 models.
Customers have the option of choosing from seven exterior paint colours: black, white, grey, orange, yellow, green, and blue. The highlight of the Deepal S07 is the Huawei Qiankun ADS SE model, which leverages its AI-powered vision system to detect and respond to intelligent assisted driving scenarios on highways and concrete expressways, as claimed by the manufacturer. Its advanced features include intelligent lane-changing assistance, obstacle evasion, and convenient parking guidance for vertical, parallel, and diagonal spaces.
While drawing inspiration from its predecessor, the Deepal S7, the Deepal S07’s design remains remarkably consistent, with minimal visual updates. The angular entrance face features a closed construction that incorporates 696 cleverly designed LED elements, enabling sophisticated animations and providing driving standing reminders. The rear features a sleek, through-type taillight configuration.
Simultaneously, the D-pillar features an intuitive charging status display.
With sleek designs featuring concealed door handles and seamless, frameless electrical sliding doors, the vehicle’s aerodynamic profile is optimized, boasting a commendable drag coefficient of just 0.258Cd. The vehicle features 255/45R20 tires for optimal performance and handling. The dimensions of the Deepal S07 are impressive: 47.50 inches long, 19.30 inches wide, and 16.25 inches high, with a wheelbase measuring 11.42 inches.
The EREV powertrain system leverages a 1.5L JL473QJ engine as a range extender, generating up to 94 horsepower, paired with a 235-horsepower electric motor and a 39.05 kWh battery pack from CATL, offering two pure-electric driving modes with ranges of 215 km and 285 km. The Great Vary spans approximately 1,200 kilometers. The e-tron SUV’s EV variant boasts a powerful 160 kW electric motor. Below, rapid charging enables the battery to recover from 30% to 80% capacity within just 15 minutes.
The interior is available in inexperienced, black, or orange hues, featuring a concealed air-conditioning outlet, a double-spoke D-shaped multifunction steering wheel, a floating 15.6-inch central management display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and running on Deepal OS, an AR-HUD, and a 12.3-inch co-pilot display suspended above.
The following features are now included: 64-color ambient lighting, enhanced Wi-Fi cell phone charging (50W, up from 40W), privacy glass for added rear visibility, a 14-speaker premium sound system with driver’s headrest audio and a generous 1.9 square feet of cargo space. The luxurious features of this vehicle include a panoramic sunroof, a driver’s seat equipped with 16-way electric adjustment, an 8-point therapeutic massage function, and an adjustable co-pilot seat with leg relaxation capabilities.
