This isn’t the first time this duo has combined their strengths to build something. In 2018, Ducati unveiled its bold Ducati 999S ‘Noir’ creation, a daring and audacious motorcycle that pushed the boundaries of design and engineering. In a bold move reminiscent of Flamenco’s attention-grabbing flair, the XDiavel’s design serves as a masterclass in provocative panache – yet, beneath its sleek exterior lies an engine that’s no laughing matter, boasting an efficiency that’s equal parts surprising and impressive. With its powerful 152-horsepower engine at its disposal, the motorbike proves to be a formidable machine, making it an ideal choice for Majewski’s project. Why? As a consequence of its design, this bike was built to compete in the renowned Glemseck 101 Dash Race series.
With minimal constraints, students have greater flexibility on this course. The bike’s construction involved a thoughtful assembly of various components. Majewski notes that nearly every component is fabricated in-house, lacking authenticity, with a focus on dominating the 1/8-mile track.
While a modest 152 horsepower and 126 Nm of torque was impressive in its own right, Majewski’s motorcycle required even more power from its 1,262cc parallel-twin engine. As any tuner recognizes, altering fuel intake and exhaust systems yields the most substantial performance enhancements for the least investment. To maximize the performance potential of his XDiavel without exceeding his budget, he opted for a custom exhaust system designed specifically by Shark. Built entirely from lightweight titanium, this innovative system serves a dual purpose: it boosts power output while significantly reducing the overall weight of the bicycle. To ensure optimal efficiency, the fueling was further refined through a process of meticulous adjustment.
While energy’s importance cannot be overstated, its potential is severely limited when unable to reach its full capacity; similarly, the Flamänko’s performance in dash racing can be significantly enhanced by equipping it with a range of upgrades tailored to this specific discipline. To ensure the bike remains stable upon opening the throttle, a high-performance 1199 Ohlins mono-shock has been installed, complemented by a specially modified rear wheel designed to accommodate a massive Hankook Ventus F200 drag racing slick tire.
While traditional drag racing events often feature production motorcycles with minimal modifications, the Glemseck 101 Dash Races stand out by mandating a high level of customization among participants. To meet the organiser’s expectations, Flamenco is significantly absent from the inventory.
Starting with the upgraded lighting, the bike now features an aftermarket LED headlight securely fastened to its frame via a custom-made bracket. The tail, midsection, and seat are regarded as a cohesive entity that harmonizes form and performance. The supple suede covering of the saddle provides ample space for a single rider, while a striking acrylic fin protrudes from the hump at the rear. Behind the sleek fin lies an ingenious LED lighting system that springs to life as brakes are applied or the vehicle operates, casting a brilliant glow across the fin’s surface.
The Roadster’s handlebars now feature clip-on accessories boasting high-quality aftermarket grips, precision-crafted CNC-machined bar ends, and bespoke fluid reservoirs. Meanwhile, the foot controls have been repositioned further back to facilitate an aggressively confident riding stance. While the motorcycle may not spend an excessive amount of time on the road, it still benefits from the addition of Motogadget mirrors and switch alerts for enhanced functionality and safety. Additionally, you’ll find a carbon fibre-mounted inventory gauge cluster and wheel covers discreetly hiding the rear wheels.
The final, yet hardly inconspicuous, aspect of the bike’s aesthetic profile is its loud and flashy paintwork. With Majewski’s brief to make the XDiavel truly unique, Helmade rose to the challenge. As he strolled along Miami’s sun-kissed streets, flanked by towering palm trees and the iconic pink hue of flamingos, Möhring couldn’t help but feel a deep connection to the city’s vibrant energy – one that perfectly mirrored the rebellious spirit of his Ducati XDiavel.
The exterior’s vibrant hue, a predominantly pink tone, is enlivened by the lush greenery of immature palm fronds and strategically placed branding elements. Given the bespoke nature of the helmet’s design, Möhring explains that it was crafted using a custom Bell Bullitt model, which perfectly complements the unique bicycle. Tribute is paid to one of Bell’s inaugural Formula 1 racing helmets, the iconic Bell Star XF GP. The visor was meticulously crafted from high-quality full carbon, seamlessly integrated with the helmet’s paintwork. It was enlightening to share our concept with the motorcycle club, observing their thoughts and responses. This concept is intentionally polarizing.
