Gazelle, the Netherlands’ leading bicycle manufacturer, has launched its Gazelle Eclipse trekking model on the US market, featuring a diverse range of stylish bike designs.

With a rich history spanning over 130 years, Gazelle has earned international recognition for its stylish Dutch e-bikes and pedal cycles, built upon a foundation of unwavering commitment to quality and innovative design. Recently, the company has invested several years in expanding its electric vehicle offerings to the US market.

The debut of the Class 3 Eclipse model in the US market signifies a landmark moment, as it is the first Bosch-powered e-bike capable of reaching speeds of up to 28 mph (45 km/h) to feature the innovative Bosch Smart System on American soil?

Emblazoned with sporty Dutch flair on an audaciously adventurous chassis, the Gazelle Eclipse harmonizes the essence of urban commuting with the rugged capabilities of a trail-blazing ride.

As the corporate defined:

The Eclipse e-bike is tailored for the discerning explorer who values the finer things in life, featuring a sleek twin downtube design that seamlessly blends aesthetics with functionality, offering stability at speed and a comfortable riding position while cleverly integrating the main battery into a modern Gazelle-inspired framework, ensuring an unparalleled cycling experience. The Eclipse seamlessly integrates design, energy, and precision, delivering a comfortable, successful, and versatile riding experience tailored to any adventure.

The e-bike features Bosch’s latest Efficiency Line Pace Motor with the intuitive Sensory System, delivering up to 85 Newton meters of torque for effortless hill conquering and rapid acceleration. That drivetrain will be paired with Bosch’s largest 750 Wh battery, enabling all-day riding on a single charge. The battery is UL-compliant, providing an additional layer of security.

The Bosch Sensory System leverages an auto-mode selector, allowing the e-bike to intuitively select from various pedal assist power modes depending on current terrain, speed, energy input, and other factors. Riders can opt to engage the bike in Handbook Mode when seeking complete control and mastery of their riding skills.

The Gazelle Eclipse features a Suntour Mobie 45 fork and 60mm tyres, providing enhanced comfort and improved handling on rough terrain through its carefully designed componentry. The stem features a fully adjustable design and includes a built-in Bosch Kiox 300 display. The Gazelle e-bike’s sleek design is elevated by the newly installed entrance and hind lights, which shine brighter than ever before. The Eclipse model also boasts a convenient MIK rack feature that allows for effortless attachment of accessories, ensuring a seamless and stylish ride.

Multiple styles of Gazelle Eclipse are currently being released by authorized US resellers within the corporation’s network.

The Eclipse T11+ HMB features a premium 11-speed Shimano Deore XT derailleur and is priced at a competitive $5,499 USD. The mannequin is available in a low-step version, presented in two colour options: anthracite grey matte and thyme green matte, as well as a high-step variant, offered solely in anthracite grey matte.

Here is the rewritten text in a different style:

The Eclipse C380+ HMB also boasts an Enviolo CVT gear hub, allowing for seamless gear shifting – even when coasting or at complete relaxation. This mannequin boasts a silent and low-maintenance Gates belt drive, enabling cyclists to enjoy more ride time and less upkeep hassle. The Eclipse C380+ HMB features an MSRP of US$5,999, with availability in both a low-step model offered in vibrant orange matte and sleek anthracite gray matte, as well as a high-step model available exclusively in anthracite gray matte.

Electrek’s Take

While I haven’t personally tested this specific Gazelle model, my experience with other Gazelle e-bikes has given me insight into their quality, as I’ve had the opportunity to inspect their Dutch factory and witness firsthand the craftsmanship that goes into building these high-end electric bicycles.

As the Eclipse unfolds, it draws on familiar elements while introducing cutting-edge innovations from Bosch e-bike drives, showcasing the pinnacle of what this harmonious blend of hardware and software can achieve.

I’m eager to experience the Eclipse at some point in the future, assuming it’s similar to my past excursions on Gazelles, which I’m confident will be an exhilarating adventure.
