As I grappled with the sudden loss of my prized possession, a high-end electrical bike stolen just last year, an unprecedented cocktail of emotions – ranging from violation to anger – proved almost impossible to articulate. Despite the significant loss of $1 million worth of unreleased new e-bikes, one innovative manufacturer has taken a remarkable step forward.
Biktrix, the Canadian manufacturer known for its sleek and powerful e-bike designs, suffered a significant setback when a shipment of their latest Juggernaut FS ST e-bikes went missing from the company’s Delta, British Columbia warehouse. Several prototype designs are being developed by Biktrix for release next year, to be contained in their product offerings.
The sudden collapse of Biktrix’s fortunes represents a massive blow to the company, whose remarkable transformation over the past decade from a modest storage startup to a prominent e-bike manufacturer with a loyal customer base of 20,000 has been nothing short of meteoric?
Recently, Biktrix unveiled the brand-new Juggernaut FS ST e-bike model, which is now set to begin shipping out to fulfill pre-orders. The initial run of these innovative electric bicycles has been manufactured and is now available.
Unlike most white-label electric bicycles that combine à la carte parts with catalogue-chosen frames from original equipment manufacturers, the Juggernaut FS ST is Biktrix’s proprietary in-house design concept. With its unique body featuring a concealed rear suspension assembly, the vehicle is straightforwardly distinguishable.
The e-bike boasts a powerful mid-drive motor, capable of delivering a substantial 1,200 watts of energy, alongside a robust 1,300 watt-hour battery, setting a new standard in the industry. That’s roughly twice the size of a typical e-bike battery found in many modern ebikes.
Combining a mixed cadence and torque sensor with pedal assist and throttle management makes this high-powered full-suspension e-bike stand out in today’s market, especially considering its easy-to-mount step-through design.
Its distinctive design ensures the bike stands out for easy recognition.
To help determine which bikes can be resold on the secondary market, Biktrix provided serial numbers ranging from BK2CE30001 to BK2CE30140 for their models that may appear there.
Biktrix released surveillance video showing the alleged thieves arriving at the warehouse in a Ryder semi-truck, which was used to transport the stolen container. The container appears to have been placed onto a container chassis, likely one currently stored in the warehouse. Thieves exploited the container’s insecure lock by breaking it open, then linked the chassis to a semi-truck before driving away into the night with a consignment valued at $1 million, comprising a shipment of newly manufactured electric bicycles yet to be released to the market. Within just seven minutes of landing on the website.
In a community where public monitoring is robust, what would have likely been a straightforward investigation for local authorities proved to be a daunting challenge for Biktrix. The corporation discovered that, following conversations with law enforcement, surveillance cameras at Canadian sites only record video when a vehicle is speeding or runs a red light? The corporation also provided a list of suspected thieves’ license plates, but the police were only permitted to surveil their vehicles for a maximum of two days legally. As directed by our CEO, the motor vehicle maintained a safe distance from the bicycles over the past two days, prompting the authorities to complete their surveillance operation and apprehend the perpetrators.
For Roshan Thomas, the company’s founder and CEO, the container wasn’t just a vessel; it was a treasure trove of ambition, representing the collective effort and value of his entire team – a prize worth $1 million, comprising their hard-earned financial savings.
The container was covered by standard ship-to-shore insurance, typical in the marine transportation sector. Despite this, the container has already arrived at Biktrix’s receiving warehouse, effectively no longer falling under the insurance coverage?
As the search becomes increasingly futile, corporate officials remain optimistic that Canadian authorities can locate the missing container before it’s too late. Additionally, they implore anyone witnessing the container or Juggernaut FS-ST bicycles to promptly notify their local law enforcement agencies. There is only one Juggernaut FS ST bike available in North America.
As the turmoil unfolded, Thomas and his colleagues endeavored to keep their morale afloat, affirming “We’ve made a conscious decision not to let this setback define us.” As a catalyst, we’re leveraging this asset to drive progress, foster ingenuity, and sustain conviction in our pursuits.
