The Teamgee G3 electrical scooter boasts impressive specifications, but it’s the price tag that truly catches the eye. Can a $249 full-suspension electric scooter really live up to its lofty price tag? I sought to understand what you wished to discover.
There exist numerous affordable electrical scooters available for purchase on the market today. While affordable electric scooters with both rapid acceleration and sturdy suspension may be scarce.
As I took my first spin on the Teamgee G3, I arrived at the evaluation with elevated expectations for this e-bike.
To gain insight into how it handles, watch my video assessment below. If you wish to delve deeper into the subject, then continue studying.
The thrill of riding on two wheels, with the wind in your hair and a spring in your step. Here’s my take on the Teamgee G3, an electric scooter that promises to take your commute game to the next level.
First off, let me just say that this thing is built for speed. With a top speed of 25 miles per hour, you’ll be zooming past pedestrians and cars in no time. And with its powerful motor, you can climb even the steepest hills without breaking a sweat.
But what really sets the Teamgee G3 apart is its smooth ride. Thanks to its shock-absorbing system and wide tires, you’ll feel like you’re gliding across the pavement, rather than bumping along on rough terrain.

What does it do nicely?
The Teamgee G3 boasts several key advantages, considering its affordable price point. Considering its $749 price tag, I didn’t expect the scooter’s performance to live up to many of its touted features.
While some electric scooters boast speeds of 28-30 mph (45-50 km/h), many actually top out at slightly lower velocities. Testing the Teamgee G3 indeed validated that this scooter has fully delivered on its promises.
The varying canal can also be fairly respectable, as long as you’re not consistently operating at peak capacity. Since riding electric bikes or scooters at top speed consistently would significantly deplete their range, it’s essential to strike a balance between performance and energy efficiency. While cruising at approximately 20mph, I’ve found I can maintain a consistent 25-mile stretch without varying from the flat terrain, which I consider economical in my manual.
The oversized wheels provide a delightful sensation when navigating curves, adding to the overall riding experience. While the 55-pound (25-kilogram) weight might suggest a heavy scooter, it surprisingly handles with a gentle and agile feel as you ride.
What didn’t I like?
While the Teamgee G3 holds its own among entry-level e-scooters, several limitations emerge when compared to top-tier models I’ve had the opportunity to assess. The folding mechanism’s sturdiness leaves something to be desired. I’m pleased to note that a security mechanism is designed to prevent accidental folding of the scooter, unless intentionally cleared by pulling the release mechanism to allow for easy passage. Although I appreciate having this feature present, I’m concerned that the main folding latch feels somewhat insecure.
I’d repeatedly fold down the locking latch, only to strike it several times with my palm in frustration, as the mechanism failed to provide a reassuring click upon closure. Despite this, it never seemed to tighten further after each blow, leading me to conclude that it was satisfactory. I’ve finally managed to get through this ordeal without too much damage. Despite this, it didn’t feel nearly as robust as I would have liked.
While the detachable handle allows for easy folding, the converse space of this feature – the ribbon-like mechanism holding it in place during transport – might be considered a drawback. Does it work? Certain. Isn’t it frustrating when a flapping ribbon gets in the way of your cycling experience, flapping in the wind and potentially causing distraction or even danger on the road? Additionally, certain.
Despite my initial reservations, I was struck by the firmness of the suspension’s response. Although I’ve grown accustomed to more expensive scooters, I find myself somewhat disappointed with the limited range of this model, as even the small amount provided requires considerable effort from the rider. While the RazorX Full Suspension Scooter is an affordable option, I shouldn’t expect flawless suspension performance. I had expected something a bit more substantial, to be honest?
Conclusions
Despite some minor drawbacks, the Teamgee G3 remains an excellent buy overall. In the end, it really boils down to value. At an MSRP of $1,000, this product offers great value for the price.
While its market value of $749 may seem steep to some, the device still manages to impress with numerous appealing features. Despite several drawbacks, the benefits are so compelling that they’re easy to overlook.
By investing in a previous generation model with a lower-cost folding mechanism and slightly stiffer suspension, I was able to acquire a quick and decently long-range electric scooter at a fantastic value. While it may not outperform larger boy scooters, this option will still leave your wallet significantly less strained.
