E-bikes are no longer a niche interest. As the United States awakens to the reality, many are discovering that e-bikes offer a viable alternative to traditional vehicles for everyday trips, including extended commutes. What if you need to transport a group of minors to high school or simply want to get around without relying on a car, whether for a fun outing with family or just a daily commute? That’s the perfect situation where an electrical rickshaw proves invaluable; the SixThreeZero EVRYjourney Electric Trike is an excellent means of doing so, offering a reliable and eco-friendly transportation solution.

While it’s certainly effective, the phrase ‘mouthful’ may lead to confusion.

The certain medication is a well-established reputation, but one that can be overlooked due to its cumbersome nature. I’m likely to just call it a rickshaw for simplicity’s sake.

This versatile, three-wheeled vehicle serves as an exceptional mode of transportation for local excursions, accommodating multiple individuals, pets, or substantial loads.

While seemingly designed for accommodating young children on the padded bench, my observation revealed that this arrangement actually worked well with two adults seated behind. Following that, I incorporated numerous younger team members into the combination as well. At some point in the unknown future, I’m certain I surpassed the 500-pound mark, but unfortunately, my progress just won’t sustain itself?

Please view the video evaluation below? Thereafter, I continued studying to fully assess this entertaining and practical three-wheeled vehicle.

Spec’d for the entire household

This isn’t just an enjoyable little electric vehicle for cruising around solo. This sturdy three-wheeled vehicle is designed for the entire family to enjoy together.

With a 500-pound weight capacity, you can easily accommodate three adults on the bike. You’re capable of doing like you did, taking a few extra young children into your lap, and then gently guiding another child or two sitting off the back to come closer and join in. With six or seven individuals on board, I acknowledged the unconventional nature of my situation. While there may be a vague warning about passenger limits for the unscrupulous, my role as a discerning reviewer obliges me to test the rickshaw’s true carrying capacity – and I’m pleased to report that it can handle significantly more weight than you’d dare attempt.

Despite this, I found that with a sufficient load behind the rear axle (youngsters hanging off the back) you can generate considerable weight distribution, prompting caution to avoid sudden acceleration and maintain traction, lest the front wheel lose grip and become airborne; however, this scenario is far removed from the intended use case of the trike. The structure’s ability to handle significant weight loads from multiple riders is substantial. If you happen to watch my video above, please don’t forget about considering my points.

What truly elevates this vehicle’s charm is its generous rear seating arrangement. While seemingly effective, it warrants refinement. Here’s an attempt to improve the text: Beyond its primary intent, this also seems beneficial. Wrapped in a charming synthetic leather finish, this vehicle boasts a robust seatbelt to ensure safety and comfort. While theoretically unnecessary for motorcycles due to the absence of a roll cage, installing seatbelts on bicycles could provide additional stability and support, particularly for children who may benefit from added security when parents are not present to supervise. Although I initially removed the seatbelt due to frequent use as a makeshift seating surface, having one in place remains important for the safety of younger passengers who require restraint.

The diamond-plate ground panel reappears to provide an added sense of security and spaciousness for rear-seat occupants, who now enjoy a generous foot deck. With a spacious 26 inches (66 cm) of room on the rear bench, accommodating two grown adults comfortably becomes a breeze. While three well-behaved youngsters can easily sit together, my niece and nephew trio exhibited slightly rambunctious behavior during extended excursions. As he hurtles down the highway, sweat-drenched and frazzled, his voice cracks with pent-up frustration, “For Pete’s sake, calm down already or I’ll slam on the brakes!”

While initially intended for casual transportation, the rickshaw has ultimately been optimized for heavy-duty hauling, capable of accommodating large groups of passengers. As we loaded six people onto the bike, the 750W motor’s initial hesitation became apparent, only manifesting itself momentarily while under maximum load. While it may appear to possess more power than necessary for a typical three-passenger configuration.

A crucial component of the three-wheeler’s design is its robust 48V 21Ah battery, which must compensate for increased resistance due to its capacity to transport multiple passengers. Given the capacity of a typical motorcycle, a 1 kWh battery seems excessive for carrying three riders; I’m relieved to see they opted for a sizeable rather than a paltry battery.

The battery is certified to meet the rigorous standards of UL2271, while the entire e-bike boasts a UL2849 certification, underscoring its compliance with the leading US safety protocols.

The broad saddle features a substantial springiness when paired with its suspension system, effectively mirroring the entry-level suspension design to enhance the overall comfort of riders.

While there is no rear suspension for passengers, the cushioned bench and fat tires should help absorb regular road vibrations and minor asphalt imperfections as long as speeds are kept reasonable when encountering bumps.

The fat tyres also suggest that you can embark on off-road adventures, such as meandering through the grass in a park or tackling the sandy terrain at the beach – however, they’re only suitable for harder-packed sand found near the waterline.

When discussing velocity in the context of driving, it’s remarkable how swiftly a rickshaw can actually move. Typically, most electric trikes top out at around 14 or 15 miles per hour, likely due to a prudent cautionary measure. While SixThreeZero may attract more laid-back lawyers or enjoy the added responsibility because its bike can reach speeds of up to 20 miles per hour (32 kilometers per hour),

Having driven it extensively at high speeds, I can attest that the vehicle feels remarkably stable when pushing its limits. While some trikes can feel cumbersome, they surprisingly maintain stability when cruising along a relatively straight path, even at high speeds. To ensure a smooth ride, it’s essential to slow down before taking sharp turns, as the front wheel may lift off the ground when attempting high-speed turns in excess of 10 mph (16 km/h) without proper deceleration. With an easily readable LCD display prominently situated in front of you, you can quickly verify your speed before entering a turn. As you ride a trike for an extended period, you develop a keen sense of timing to execute each jump without leaving the pavement.

Although the LCD display lacks flair, it efficiently conveys essential data, providing a clear readout of battery capacity, speed, distance, time, battery voltage, and inclination angle. There’s also a USB-A port that enables you to charge your phone or other device.

The included storage compartment is a unique and practical feature that sets this product apart from its competitors. This practical storage space is ideal for securing youngsters’ gear, such as backpacks, water bottles and sports equipment, for a trip to the park or any outing requiring safe transportation.

Although it features a closure clasp that doesn’t actually lock, refrain from leaving valuable items inside. But this added storage space proves invaluable when the entire household heads out for the afternoon, requiring more capacity than what can fit on their laps.

A simple yet effective storage solution is to attach hooks to the back of the rear bench, allowing you to hang canvas shopping bags and clip on your children’s backpacks, requiring only a minimal amount of DIY effort to implement this configuration.

The few downsides

While the SixThreeZero electric rickshaw is undoubtedly a lot of fun to ride, it does have some drawbacks in its current design.

While assembly time is a consideration, the primary concern is that it takes some time to assemble. Within the sprawling expanse of a top-tier bicycle show, this exceptional model stands out, its assembly nearing completion at around 80%. With your purchase, you’ve acquired a multitude of components including the entrance wheel, handlebars, bench, fenders, seat, lights, and more.

The assembly process is straightforward – even those who have mastered building IKEA furniture can easily assemble a rickshaw. The primary issue is the significant increase in time required for each stage of travel due to the e-bike’s larger size and weight. I spent nearly an hour organizing the entire project, while also fiddling with my cameras to capture its best aspects on film.

The challenge lies in the fact that the rickshaw is surprisingly weighty. As the weight exceeded 150 pounds, I found myself filming in isolated locations, which required me to repeatedly lift the equipment into the bed of a pickup truck. I was once able to accomplish this task independently, albeit with difficulty. By lifting the entrance wheel up and positioning myself behind to raise the rear, I found that this straightforward approach proved a reliable and effective way to tackle obstacles. I secured the bars to ensure they remained upright throughout the lift process. It’s not fair, but with the right amount of proper posture and effort, it’s possible.

While this suggestion may apply to some, I’d strongly recommend considering professional support to prevent potentially harmful consequences for most people.

By upgrading to hydraulic disc brakes, I can potentially gain a more responsive and reliable braking system that will enhance my overall riding experience? While I didn’t sense the brakes were inadequate, my speed wasn’t particularly brisk when fully loaded. With a multitude of passengers on board, I typically slowed down to a cautious 10 miles per hour or less. As I pedaled solo, the rickshaw’s speed shot up to 20 mph, leaving me feeling exhilarated and free. The brakes seemed satisfactory in every situation. However, I worry that the rapid speed and large passenger load, coupled with the demands of prolonged braking while descending alone, may render mechanical brakes insufficiently robust – especially during extended braking events. Wouldn’t I gain a boost in power and efficiency by installing hydraulic disc brakes, thereby reducing the physical strain on my hands?

Sum all of it up!

While the SixThreeZero electrical rickshaw is certainly impressive, its true potential remains to be fully utilized? While the heavier vehicle may require more advanced braking systems, my personal experience suggests that the current brakes are sufficient to ensure safe driving. All other aspects were remarkably excellent.

I relish the opportunity to interact with diverse individuals and appreciate the comfort of sharing a snug bench seat, unlike the constraints of a single seat or awkward tandem bike seating for adults, which significantly enhances the experience’s overall enjoyment.

At $2,999, this is certainly a significant investment for enjoying quality time with your family and friends. Moreover, you’re gaining a feature that you won’t find in most other e-bikes – or perhaps any other e-bike.
