Drone company DJI unveils new electric bike brand Amflow

DJI, a pioneer in aerial photography and drones, has finally made good on its hints about its foray into the world of two-wheeled transportation by unveiling the Amflow, a cutting-edge electric mountain bike. Experience the thrilling power of the brand-new Amflow PL, equipped with DJI’s cutting-edge Personal New Drive System.

DJI has incubated Amflow, a pioneering electrical mountain bike model that boasts an ultra-light carbon fibre body design, courtesy of its responsibility.

The e-bike’s motor is entirely powered by DJI technology. As the corporate defined, “DJI’s lengthy historical past of R&D in motor, battery know-how, and software program growth drove the creation of the DJI Avinox Drive System, which powerfully combines torque, battery capability, 2-inch OLED touchscreen, distant controls, and a charger/supercharger.”

Within our corporation, the motor system boasts a sophisticated compound planetary gearset, enabling it to boast an industry-leading power-to-size ratio.

Weighing just 2.9 kilograms (6.3 pounds) alone, the 600 Wh battery contributes to the bike’s overall weight of 19.2 kilograms (42 pounds), making it an impressively lightweight package. While it would be a sturdy off-road bike in its standard form, the real bonus is that this e-mountain bike requires only a minor adjustment to tackle even more challenging terrain.

An 800Wh battery is available, accompanied by a 500W rapid charger that can charge the bike to 75% capacity from zero in just 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The DJI Avinox mid-drive motor purportedly delivers a peak power of 850 watts in standard driving settings, with a maximum output of 1,000 watts in its Enhanced mode. While impressive in its own right, it’s the torque that truly takes center stage in a show-stopping display of force. The Avinox reportedly generates a maximum torque output of 105 Nm, which can surge to an impressive 120 Nm when Enhanced Mode is activated.

Among various experience modes, Auto Mode stands out for its ability to adapt helpful assistance in real-time, responding dynamically to changing floor conditions and driving locations.

“As engineers passionate about mountain biking, we’ve witnessed numerous technological advancements that remain absent from the electric mountain bike market,” said Peter Archer, senior product specialist at Amflow. As a culmination of our tech expertise and passion, we’re proud to introduce Amflow to the mountain biking community through our inaugural offering, the Amflow PL. As the electric mountain bike (eMTB) industry converges at a pivotal moment, innovative technology and featherlight materials seamlessly merge, transforming any landscape into an endless expanse of thrilling possibilities for eMTB enthusiasts.

The Avinox drive system incorporates a 2-inch OLED full-colour display with an integrated touchscreen, which also serves as the interactive hub of the system. With the Avinox app, riders can seamlessly integrate their smartphones to access a range of intelligent features, including bike safety, data recording and sharing, customizable parameter adjustments, and real-time bike status monitoring. The system seamlessly integrates progressive twin Wi-Fi controllers with Bluetooth connectivity, streamlining the handlebar setup and enhancing user comfort.

While significant information has been shared about DJI’s innovative motor technology, there remains a scarcity of details regarding the e-bike itself, except for its touted lightweight carbon fibre frame.

With any luck, we’ll delve deeper into the bicycle’s specifications soon enough. With the release of DJI’s inaugural e-bike drive system, it’s clear they’re looking to disrupt the status quo, where traditional German mid-drive motors dominate high-end bikes while Chinese mid-drives cater to more affordable options. DJI’s impressive design capabilities are expected to bring significant advancements in Chinese-made mid-drive electric bicycles closer to your doorstep.
