David Gonzalez, renowned expert at Advert Hoc, specializes in tailoring Yamaha motorcycles to individual specifications. Renowned globally for his meticulous craftsmanship, he received widespread acclaim for his transformative restorations of the iconic XJ650 and XJ750 motorcycles, where he skillfully combined disassembly and reengineering to create unique, high-quality results featuring striking powder-coated components. Meet the ‘Otokomae’, the latest masterpiece from The Yard Constructed, a bold road tracker that turns heads with its striking design and unapologetic flair, boasting an eye-catching colour scheme that demands attention.
To achieve the signature Ad-Hoc look, Gonzalez kicked off by elevating the entrance finish with authentic Yamaha components from various models, incorporating an MT-09 stem, YZF-R6 front forks, disc brakes, and clutch, complemented by an MT-01 front light and bracket. With its Borrani rims and Michelin tyres ensuring rock-solid stability, the customization’s crowning glory lies in its thoughtful shell design, which discreetly houses the distinctive gasoline tank. Meanwhile, the radiator and air filter compartments have been strategically reconfigured to optimize performance.
Gonzalez swapped out the original XSR700 exhaust for an ultra-aggressive SC Venture system, installed a custom-tailored rear subframe, and lifted the ride’s performance peak by fitting it with a Gears Racing shock. With its top-notch cowhide seat and striking Yamaha Racing-inspired blue and yellow hues, the Yard Built XSR700 Otokomae cuts a confident and eye-catching figure in the world of custom motorcycles.
