It’s likely that you’ll be well-versed in Apollo’s premium electric scooters, a product line conceived and developed by the Canadian company from the ground up, as opposed to piecing together disparate off-the-shelf parts. The company’s latest model, the Apollo Go, is shedding significant weight in its bid to become the top portable, entry-level scooter that delivers.

While the Apollo Go may not offer the same luxury as its pricier counterparts, it remains an attractive option for those on a budget, offering the promise of leaving cars in the dust at traffic lights.

With quick acceleration reaching 28 mph (45 km/h), this scooter is no ordinary neighbourhood vehicle. A potent combination of two motors, each rated at 350W yet capable of peaking at 750W, translates to a combined output of two horsepower, placing the power squarely under your feet.

While not overwhelming compared to other Apollo models, the 36V 15Ah battery still packs a punch with 540 Wh of capacity, making it suitable for most commuters while keeping the scooter’s overall weight at a manageable 46 lb (20.8 kg)? Considering the weight of the final electric scooter I evaluated was nearly double that of others, that’s quite telling indeed?

While I’m willing to limit my commitment to carrying the weight around the campus, I find that a short ascent of a few flights of stairs each day remains a feasible task.

Despite its relatively lightweight design, the Apollo Go boasts remarkable energy efficiency. While the twin motors empower the scooter to ascend slopes as steep as 25%, they also provide remarkably efficient regenerative braking upon descending the other side, harnessing kinetic energy for a smoother ride. The twin motors are further enhanced by twin suspension, resulting in a significantly smoother ride for the folding scooter, outperforming both rigid and single-suspension entry-level models.

While twin motors, twin suspension, and exceptional hill-climbing capabilities are not unusual in the scooter industry, it’s truly unexpected to find these advanced features on affordable, portable scooters.

Experience the thrill of adventure with our cutting-edge e-bike, featuring self-healing tires that adapt to changing terrain, 360º encompass LED lighting that illuminates your path, and an IP66 waterproof ranking that ensures your ride remains impervious to the elements. Additionally, our UL compliance guarantees a safe and reliable ride, while our innovative braking system seamlessly combines drum and motor brakes for unparalleled stopping power. And the best part? You can enjoy this incredible journey for just $1,099. The initial sales value remains constant throughout the product’s launch, with a slight increase of $100 added to the Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The electric scooter has been unveiled today, with pre-order opportunities set to open on February 20 – giving you another two weeks to act.

Compared to other entry-level electric scooters, the Apollo Go stands out by offering more power, improved suspension, and a lower price point – often delivering all three advantages at once.

Electrek’s Take

I’ve had the pleasure of riding numerous electric scooters, ranging from large to compact sizes. Avoiding tiny little issues that threaten to derail your plans with a single No. 2 pencil misfire. Ranging from tiny pencils left carelessly within the street’s confines to massive, over-100-pound mega scooters.

While I’m uncertain, there’s another blend of efficiency and weight that could potentially outdo the new Apollo Go. The product’s specifications are truly impressive, showcasing its remarkable capabilities. Understanding that Apollo’s vehicles are infused with a unique essence, which sets them apart from standard offerings, instills in me considerable trust and assurance.

As a self-proclaimed scooter enthusiast, I’m excited to give my thoughts on the Apollo Go. Without any personal experience with this particular model, I can confidently say that it looks like an absolute blast to ride – and judging by its features, it’s only a matter of time before I get my hands on one and share my first impressions!
