Kawasaki recently augmented its lineup of electric bicycles by introducing the all-new 2025 Elektrode 20 and Elektrode 20FS models, boasting innovative features and enhanced performance capabilities. Starting at $2,199, the Elektrode 20 will hit dealer showrooms this summer, while its sibling, the 20FS, is expected to arrive in the fall.
Building upon the momentum generated by Kawasaki’s authentic Elektrode stability motorcycle, reintroduced in 2022 for the 20 and 20FS constructs. While that bike is designed with younger riders in mind, its specs also make it suitable for older youngsters and those of larger build, according to Kawasaki’s official statements.
The latest Elektrodes feature a hermetically sealed 750W in-wheel brushless motor, eliminating the need for chains, and offering a top speed of 24 mph across three customizable pace settings. The in-frame battery ensures up to three hours of uninterrupted riding pleasure. With Excessive mode activated, riders can enjoy up to one hour of extended ride time before needing to recharge the battery, which can be replenished fully within just four hours. Additionally, there is an auto-sleep feature embedded that automatically shuts down power supply after a mere 10 minutes of inactivity, thus effectively conserving precious battery life?
An LCD panel provides data on pace mode selected, with high pace limited to everyone. Permits are capped at 13mph for a low pace, while Mid and Excessive settings allow for speeds of up to 24mph; however, the Mid setting reduces throttle sensitivity by limiting responsiveness.
The Twenty and TwentyFS models are equipped with newly designed 20-inch spoked wheels and feature lightweight aluminum bodies. The 20 model arrives equipped with a fork that offers 2 inches of travel, while the 20FS features a BMX-inspired rigid fork. Disc brakes function on both the front and rear.
The Electrode 20 is designed to support riders up to 132 kg, featuring a height-adjustable seat that can accommodate riders from 54.5 cm to 69.2 cm tall. The 20FS can accommodate riders weighing up to 176 kilograms, featuring adjustable seat height from 23.4 inches to 30 inches.
